Any sutch thing as a bluetooth extender?

SBC codec should go further than aptX as lower quality but all depends on earbuds and their antenna and power in, not that many earbuds have aptX-LL (think I may have had one for sure but possible two sets).

I would have thought the antenna in headphones would be much better than in earbuds?

Im thinking about buy more expensive earbuds for xmas as Im using these all the time, the 1 thing that annoys me with my current buds is that the battery only lasts 3-4 hrs.

You did say "buds" and yes a bigger set of headphones should have bigger/better antenna but it all depends on how it is made some are crap.

I have had cans that get less than 10m and earbuds that were 20-30m (Class 1 BT)

I tried to not go for less than 6 hours but ideally 8 hours (that will be SBC@50% Vol), you get less with higher quality codecs and higher volume.

I have had cheap and high end Bluetooth ear/headphones (£30-£350) and battery was not so good in real life usage on most of them as well as audio quality IMO poor and other issues.

The new SoundPeats Sonic's have 15 hours (SBC@60% Vol) and the new dual balanced driver SoundPeats H1 have 10 hours (SBC@60%Vol), both are BT 5.2/Aptx-Adaptive.

My current SoundPeats Force HD dual driver Neckband have 35 hours (SBC@60%) aptX/aptX-HD.

I usually charge them once per week and use every day and rarely turn them off when out and about or back home for short period (I forget they are on if the music paused)

I just let them idle but they do turn of if not actually connected for 10-15mins.

These earbuds look quite good with 9hrs bat life and 30meter range? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cambridge-...lja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ&th=1

I looked at your SoundPeats, but there quite cheap and the sound quality with my buds Im using are as good as expensive earbuds apparently. And I have compared them to my sisters apple airpods pro's and I prefer the sound of mine, as mine are more bassy but still sounds extremely clear and I can even hear sounds that my medium quality speakers dont pick up. So Im quite wary of buying cheap earbuds if thats the case

Those ones you looked at are supposed to sound really good but so then was the high end Sony WH-1000XM3, B&W P14's etc etc, I tried.

I told you I have had 30-£350+ sets, some are a total waste of money and I wondered how they got a good name.

In all the ear/headphones I have tried I am more overall happy with my SoundPeats (not all of them, some were sent right back).

Airpods are crap so are Beats so do not think they are good quality just they "have the market".

You really do not want to be listening to AAC@250K esp. when your music will no doubt be at least 320K MP3 or Flac.

Well Airpods, Bose ect are utter rubbish as your mainly paying for the name and thats why I prefer the sound from my £40 cheapy earbuds. My headphones that uses SBC codecs sound dreadful compared to my earbuds but thats the headphones fault more then the codec, as the sound is very muggy,, basically too bass where there shouldn't be any..

Those cambridge buds have really good reviews and even a "WHAT-HIFI" 2020 award, so I might try them, plus they sound like the antenna is good if they say "SUPERIOR CONNECTION: the very latest true wireless Bluetooth 5.0 technology to ensure no drops in signal, and connectivity at up to 30 meters." So they might work better in my house.

A lot of cheaper buds have and artificial over the top Bass emphasis but SoundPeats tend have a nicer "V" Shaped EQ baked in and it can sound good and if you listen to some of your lower quality bitrate music with a really good set of buds that does not shape the sound it will sound bad, you need good content for those so cheaper buds are more forgiving.

SBC is not bad and in fact before it was crippled by Qualcomm to promote aptX it had a lot more settings and variables.

I know of/looked at those Cambridge's but did not like the shape, ideally I want/need wings, I cannot remember if they are Class 1 but to get 30m they would need be.

EDIT: You got to watch descriptions on Amazon etc as that could mean ideal condition in open air, I went to their site.

BLUETOOTH VERSION
Bluetooth 5.0, Class 2

A: yes great sound, but bluetoth range is very bad"

They have been out a while, this is the new ones due in 2021 (no improvement in buds battery life):

Ok,, ordered these earbuds as they seem to be the best for SQ and battery for sub £100.. The only problems are the one you pointed out, but that varies from people to people and surely they cant be any worse then my cheapo ones? And some people cant get them to stay in the ears, but again that varies from person to person and hopefully I wont have any problem as I have quite large ears. So fingers crossed it should be a nice upgrade as People say the SQ and battery life is excellent.... This guy tests them and normally he can't get things to stay in his ears, but these stay in, so thats promising.......

The upgraded version to these look nice, but there going to be about the £130 mark by the looks, plus these are for xmas.

I am trying to remember the other "audiophile" type high end buds that come in a fabric covered case.

The new ones : The Best Quality in-Ear Wireless Ear Buds for Comfort and Sound (lypertek.com) < LEVI (seem not as good as older ones by reviews, also cheaper and no aptX this time AFAICS).

They have nearly all recent BT ear/headphones/speakers covered between them:

I have just sent my current buds back for a refund as the charging case has split, so Im using my sisters apple airpods until I get my cambridge audio buds. But god these apple buds are rubbish considering they cost 3x more than mine, as they haven't hardly any bass, they use SBC codecs, battery life only 3-4 hrs same as mine and the Bluetooth distance range isnt any better. The only good thing about these is you cant really tell your wearing them, as they dont block out any external noise and they are extremely comfortable to wear considering there all hard plastic. But for sq I much prefer my £40 buds. Oh yeah, also there's no controls on the apple buds

My Intel WIFI 6E/BT5.2 M2 card arrived a few days ago, now the fun part tomorrow when parts arrive with myself tying to get the tiny MHF4 connectors on it without crushing both ends but going by past mishaps I am sure some of the cables have the wrong sized ends on them (not MHF4).
