Hi all.
So I'm here asking for any help on you pros and experts and to guide me.
My 1080TI i think is dead.. it might not be.
I will explain.
was on Call Of Duty Cold War, I started up a Domination, and it counted down, got to 5 and crashed (done that before to many of us) but this time it crashed and stayed black screen.
It has been black screen ever since (got a 970 in at the minute and i am using that card right now)
whilst using the 1080ti it would allow to boot up the pc and turn both monitors but nothing but pure blackness ( headset still played the load up sounds of windows and could hear me clicking on stuff depending on what it was)
so I uninstalled all drivers, follow youtube on some techniques.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqQomeLC8co
that was the video i followed.
i've had no luck the cables i've not tested but both going is me suspecting it wont be the cables.
i've never over clocked my card any advice will be great on what i should try and could try. thanks all.

:( there no way I can solve it?

Before writing it off at least try it in a different PC and see if it's still dead. I've known of power supplies which can fall over if too much power is demanded so you should rule everything out first.

Fixing these things is a nightmare, you don't know which component has failed, and even if you did how would you source a new one and replace the duff one?

Worse case scenario, there is a market for dead GPUs on Ebay and they fetch more than you might think, so there's a small silver lining in the worst case for you.

Just because this happens to me on occasion (have never been able to figure it out) try resetting the CMOS on your motherboard. Works for me, maybe it will for you.

I'm gonna assume the CMOS definitely reset? As in, load defaults or enter setup? Only because my motherboard is very weird as in the power has to stay plugged in and on to reset, odd.

Also out of curiosity, what model 1080Ti and do the fans spin up?

And any chance of testing it in another PC?

Yeah mine has a button at the back for Cmos reset. Not been forced into any set up but I’ll try cmos reset with my 970 tonight.

yes my 1080ti fans spin and it lights up even gets my monitors off standby to on but it’s just black screen :(

On my phone so sorry for errors.

Try resetting through motherboard pins just in case. If the CMOS is completely reset it should ask you to accept defaults or enter setup on boot.

Try different PCI-E slot.

Try different cables from PSU (Or another PSU if you have access).

Try just one monitor, preferably in an output you don't usually use.

And again, trying in new PC.

If a 970 works in the PC then I dont think it can be anything else in the PC. Cant you try the 1080ti in your mates PC ? Have you tried a different HDMI/DP port on the card it has been know for ports to go yet others work.
