*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

This thread has slowed down a LOT. So does that mean most people have their cards now?
I think it means most people are resigned to the fact that they are not seeing cards from OC until spring/summer next year. People like myself who were towards the back of the queue might even img a whole Calendar year at the current rate of stock allocations. Personally I jumped when I found out I was 1470 queue position and they were only receiving a dozen a week.

wow just wow

excellent news, cant wait to order a 3080ti, i suspect it to be at least £1300 to £1400+

this is what must be done at the time of release, in order to secure for early adopters

Start up PC and Laptop, mask the laptop IP so your not IP restricted, open webpage login, register your bank card

Open multiple tabs, as soon as release commences, add to basket, F% if need be, pretty sure you will be the 1st to successfully order a 3080ti

Once received test and sell your previous card if needed

lesson learnt from the 3080 release

With OCUK is easier. There is a trick as long as you manage it before the site dies. But kind of pointless now as they don't do new product releases any more!

my card was dispatched today from else where for delivery 30th - 1st

Nice, I've found this in the "contact us" section on OCUK
  • Christmas Closure: We are closed from 15:00 on 24th December until 09:00 on 29th December
  • New Year Closure: We are closed from 15:00 on 31st December until 10:00 on 2nd January

A large number of people that ordered immidiately at launch, as soon as possible on the site still don't have cards.
It's christmas time, cards aren't here so what's the point any more. Failure has manifested.

I honestly can’t believe most of you above 50 in the queue are even here or have patience for this S show knowing that it could be getting on for half a year until you get your cards. You have the patience of a saint whilst waiting for a miracle. As long as you don’t vote with your wallets nothing will ever change.

They will get quicker and cheaper than most people taking their luck on the silly random drop systems to be fair.

The OCUK queue system is far superior to what the other retailers are doing, its a shame they closed it.

You still don't seem to grasp what the issue is. It's not just a lack of GPUs, it's all the other electronic components as well that are in short supply. everything from surface mount capacitors and resistors through to inductors. There is a global shortage of everything, much of this is due to a planet dealing with a pandamenic effecting every part of supply and production

We had shortages before the pandemic as well, A big factor is likely bean counters not allowing new capacity to be built as it risks the ultimate nightmare scenario for a company which is having too much capacity.

All of the following products there is supposedly capacity issues.

OLED panels
GPU's
CPU's
Consoles
Smartphones
Laptops
Motherboards
Nand

Either its severe incompetence or its a planned strategy. Probably the latter, when I used to work in manufacturing I think there was a rule, extra capacity requiring investment would only be considered if demand was at something like 300%, it was simply deemed too risky as sales were never assured in the long term. This was 20 years ago, with how modern business has become more aggressive now, I expect it is even harder to get investments signed off.

I expect there is one or two bottlenecks that all of the above products are affected by and ultimately the devices that sell in the most numbers get the priority such as smartphones and consoles.

Can we PLEASE have some clarity on the following cards which have not been delivered for months (if ever) :

ASUS TUF NON OC
MSI VENTUS
ZOTAC TRINITY

Are they practically discontinued? (ie only produced in very limited amount).

And if the above is true, how is it fair to keep people's money for months for a product that you know will not be delivered?

@Gibbo

Is it a crazy idea to offer alternatives?

This.

Was kinda happy that I was forced to wait in a queue till the rx 6000 series was released. Wasn't expecting to still be queuing when the 3800ti comes...

Managed to get a 3080 Suprim x ordered which is estimated for mid January. Can't imagine my position with Overclockers for aTUF non OC will come through any month soon.

Pre-Ordered 3 months ago about half way through my queue position now at 660ish debating whether to cancel my order and just buy at a higher price or do i endure another possible 3 months till arrival. Nothing looks hopefull anymore

Have to agree, I remember seeing them mentioning an OK amount was due (for reference Gibbo said it was 50 in the 30XX series thread). but they when i only went down 25 spaces i knew something was up. surprised i am still in the queue now and not cancelled yet... hopefully the rest of the "86" they are expecting show up.

Firstly, Gibbo updated on the Asus TUF non-OC only a few days before your post, there were 68 of them on their way to OCUK at the time.

MSI Ventus and Zotac Trinity both had updates in November.

'Practically discontinued' isn't a thing... If the manufacturers tell the retailers that they can order a card and should advertise it then that is what they do, if a product is discontinued then they can't order it.

OCUK have not taken orders for anything that is discontinued, but pretty much every 3080 they have ordered from anywhere is in a situation of supply constraint.

So when you ask 'how is it fair to keep people's money for months for a product that you know will not be delivered?' you are not reflecting the actual situation.

OCUK do not know that these products will not be delivered because the suppliers are accepting orders and telling them that they will be delivered, just not telling them when...

OCUK are not keeping people's money, people are choosing to leave their money with OCUK...

If the manufacturers tell OCUK that a product they have ordered is actually discontinued then they would have to cancel the customer orders and refund the money.

Until then the orders stay in place but each customer is free to cancel at any time and receive a full refund.
