Nvidia may be preparing to release the RTX 3080 Super and RTX 3070 Super

Got to get that ad revenue by changing it slightly from Nvidia may be preparing to release the 3080ti

Well given that we have a 2060 super, 2070 super, 2080 super and a 2080ti, it's most likely just a question as to when, not if.

Given the price difference between a 3080 and 3090, wouldn't be surprised (if this is true....) that the 3080 super comes in at £800/900 and the 3080 ti comes in at £1000-1200k.

Yeah they can stick that up their arse if a ti is gonna be fetching a grand.

The ti is obviously not aimed at you then. I personally wouldn't spend over £300 on a GPU. However, I can understand why somebody on a very high income would spend over £1000. It's all relative - you earn high, you spend high. You earn low, you spend low.

Not even a mater of that, it's more a matter of how much they're creeping up in price year in year out. A grand used to buy you a titan, now it's gonna buy you a second tier card. At this rate the xx60 cards will be £500 minimum in a couple of years.

Or it is called having principles and not wanting to be the reason the gpu/pc gaming market will go to an even ******* state.

My maximum outlay for GPUs was never any more than £400 at most, £450 at a push if some games were bundled like amds old days but here I am now on the look out for a 3080 FE to come back in stock at £650 as it is the only real upgrade (and the best bang per buck in todays market) that will last a solid 2/3 years unless I could get a 2nd hand 2080ti for a sensible price.

Same here, a 3070/80-FE or 6800/xt-reference is the max i will go, or a used 2080ti. Not paying over the odds as the reference cards have good coolers all round this time. All this current pricing because of stock limits is farcical, 3070's costing more than 3080's etc.

Sorry my man but High end gaming isn't for you. For £400 you should really not expect more than a mid-range level card at best. This isn't the early 2010's anymore.

Since the next gen consoles do 1440/4k 60fps most of the time for £450, you're right, it isn't for me, nor is it for many other PC gamers now.... Know a lot of "PC gamers" who have jumped onto the ps 5/xbx recently and their PCs haven't been turned on since.....

You do realise what will happen the more that people give in to these gouging/scalper prices?

Hint, the more people that move away from PC gaming, the more niche it becomes = even higher prices..... Just have a look at any niche/enthusiast hobby these days.

When you have to start paying £1000 at a minimum for the likes of 3080 gpus, will you still be ok with these prices?

There's not a huge FPS difference between the 3080 and 3090 (around 8% at 1440p) unlike the 2080 Vs 2080ti (20% at 1440p).

So don't know how much extra performance you can gain going from the 3080 to 3080 super.

It'll be more of a vram bump than anything else. Starting to wonder if the 10 gig variants of the 3080 only exist so they could be first to market, seems like it if they're already superseding them with models with more ram.

Also, it's worth remembering that once this vaccine for covid is rolled out more widely over the coming months, people will be returning to their "normal" routine and other hobbies etc. i.e. travelling, outdoor/indoor sports etc., which I suspect will massively impact the PC market i.e. less people will be buying pc parts so retailers/etailers are going to have a very hard time shifting the stock at the prices they have been buying them at.... Short term been a massive success for the like of ocuk but long term, well, lets just say, it's going to be an interesting ride!

EDIT: Not to mention ebay/mm etc. will possibly be flooded when people don't have to stay at home locked up any longer....

My thoughts too.

It's the only real hardware disadvantage compared to amds cards atm.
