*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

@Gibbo thanks for the improved communication, its a much nicer place to be with some facts!

i'm just under 50 in the eagle oc queue, any chance by the end of the month?

I am hoping by end of this week all manufacturers would have communicated shipment plans for the month, we have CNY in six weeks which will see further factory shut down causing a delay in shipments during CNY period, but after that factories will be up and running and hopefully catching up big time.

going forward, are TUF OC shipments going to be split between the two queues then?

seems to confirm that ASUS simply aren't supplying TUF NON OC. i'm happy for those who recieved them, but i'll be around position 60 now and if ASUS are only distributing them by accident, i can't see myself getting any closer?

not angling for an OC version, just want what i paid for within hours of launch and if ASUS can't fulfil their obligations then they'll just have to take the hit. we all know they're the same cards anyway given the lack of variance in the binning of the chips, just with a different firmware.

I can see prices of msi and zotac are around £200 less than ASUS OC and gigabyte, these AIB's are gouging at the distribution level (if it was all retail level then every brand would be £200+ more than RRP), the "current" price difference from standard asus TUF to TUF OC is huge, and this is why I think asus are not shipping non OC. Was good for OCUK to honour the announcement.

Personally I think OCUK should reopen orders for all the cards and just put everyone on a pre-order list. It is deeply frustrating not even being able to order something because even if I knew I was 1000th on the list at least I would know I will get something eventually. In some ways that would also provide everyone with much greater visibility on the manufacturers shipping rates and their current inability to fulfil demand. Especially if OCUK were to publish a weekly update to the lists on their website so you could see each list by card in order number sequence. That would also expose those manufacturers who are being slowest at shipping anything and might actually spur them into action to try harder!

It's been an expensive month for IT! I ordered the HP Reverb G2 in mid Dec for end Jan delivery, doubled my RAM to 32GB of Hyperfury X. then ordered the Thrustmaster TPR rudder pedals from Holland and am hoping they will be here by the end of the week. When I do eventually get that RTX3080 it's going to be a whole new experience flying IL2 and Star Wars Squadrons in VR. I have a lead on a 3080 that might see it arrive before the end of the month.

For me it's VR that has really pushed my upgrades. Having experienced the increased immersion it offers I simply cannot go back to any flat screen monitor setup no matter how many screens or how big they are!! VR in my view is the single most important leap in computer gaming and simulation since the home computer revolution of the 1980's. The problem is that it is also immensely demanding on hardware - FS2020 is essentially unplayable on my 1080 in VR and even guys with 3080's are reporting frame rates in the high thirties with all the graphical goodies on!

The queue is vastly superior to random drops.

I disagree with that position. You might say that now but the work OcUk have to do to implement the system and then manage cancellations etc is far worse for them. I think they have learned from the original 3080 release which is to be admired.

The amount of people who were raging about OcUk taking money for cards they did not have etc was huge. I agree with their position now as long as updates are frequent :)

P.S. can we open threads for the AMD 6800 & 6900xt cards in the same way as these. That way we can post for updates as is being done here without getting roasted :mad:

yeah it's better than random drops - maybe a nice middle ground is to only accept idk say 300 pre-orders per card at first then release another pre-order batch once stocks start to appear.

We won't be re-opening ordering for taking pre-orders sorry. The additional workload it creates on the entire company is huge, to the point that other customers who are not chasing a back order can no longer get through to us easily as having thousands of back orders creates a huge backlog and huge demand on customer services.

In the end it becomes very costly, we have refunded thousands of orders now which is the last thing we ever want to do because it comes as a double whammy to us, not only have we lost/upset a customer to the point they cancelled but we have to pay the merchant processing fee both ways, refunding cost us money just as it does taking orders.

As such during these times we shall continue as we are which is only allowing orders for products with high stock levels to prevent over selling, and right now our primary focus is clearing the backlog, not creating more backlog, as we speak I am upgrading our 3070 customers who ordered none OC parts, to the OC parts to get their orders cleared, once this is done we then may consider taking new orders on 3070 on cards we may have lefr spare.

The situation in the market is dire right now, GPU is short across all GPU categories, not just high-end, CPU is in constraint and for the past 2-3 weeks we have being unable to order memory due to some IC issue, its not a good start to 2021 and we are hoping that production seriously ramps up.

Oh yeah no doubt random drops are easier and less hassle for retailers, but they less consumer friendly, so my view is from the side of the consumer.

Sorry to hear Gibbo, not all of us would be constantly pestering customer services, but thanks for explaining the reasons.

Sadly I dont have the willpower and time to sit for random drops so I guess unless a miracle happens I wont be getting one of these gpu's. Hopefully a miracle does happen and the stock situation resolves.

I agree with that too don't worry :) Thats why I said it heavily relies on frequent and clear updates :)

But I was on the other side of the 3080 launch and it was real messy too so its a lose lose for us and OcUk either way at the moment :(

Thank you for your understanding.

When I have finished upgrading orders, will take some days I shall then gives a head up on this forum (new thread) about making some GPUs available for ordering like 3070's, 3060Ti, 6800, 6800 XT and 6900 XT etc, many will be new cards whichb have never being listed also. It will be a few days yet before this happens as the priority right now is upgrading customers and clearing backlog.

Great update Gibbo especially on the 6800xt and 6900xt :) Thanks.! Was waiting on the AMD card information myself.

Just catching up with the ASUS 3080 TUF shipments - guessing the 70 planned to go out soon are separate to ASUS' OC/non oc error that went out the other week?

Last queue update on 24th so just trying to piece together expectations! (fully understand it's been holidays so no movement/queue updates etc - just bit confused catching up on last few pages :D)

Check the sticky, all updates are posted there, but no news as of yet from any manufacturers, shall no doubt be later this week.

Took the words right out of my mouth. At this point I feel it’s misrepresentation for OC to call themselves an EVGA stockist.
I understand the EVGA have been incredibly poor at sending stock to europe. At this stage, months and months after launch and no sign of this card, its getting silly.

I've looked through it; post #78 mentions ASUS 3080 TUF NON OC x 86 being sent (18th Dec). Between 12th-24th of Dec I moved 19 placed on that queue. Didn't expect these to be sent out until this year but seeing some posts about getting these a few pages back. Was wondering if post #85 mentioning x70 of the ASUS 3080 TUF NON OC was a subset of that or if I've just confused everything entirely.

Sorry if it comes off as sounding arsey :D I know the next queue update will clear this up!

I'm guessing there's no real news on EVGA? Specifically the 3080 XC3 Black Gaming 10gb?
I started 26th on the list for this card. I'm currently 19th.. I don't feel like any of us in this queue are being impatient by requesting/demanding clarification and a clear pathway as to when we will see our cards!
