Nvidia may be preparing to release the RTX 3080 Super and RTX 3070 Super

Confusing.
Oooo I can't get my head around all those complicated models; there are so many letters and numbers!

Do the people that buy these things not have jobs? I bet most jobs are a bit more complicated to understand than having a 3080, 3080Ti, and 3080 Super :D.

i think 3x 3080 cards seems a little overkill.... dont forget whilst there WAS a 2080, 2080 super and 2080ti................ the 2080 super superseded the 2080, so other than old stock/clearence, there were generally only 2 2080 cards on the market at 1 time..... a 2080 and a 2080ti or a 2080super and a 2080 ti.

hopefully to up the anti against AMD they will release the 3080 super with more ram but same specs and keep the FE prices the same as the "old" 3080, as well as release a 3080ti with the extra performance.

wasnt it nvidia who said this gen they wanted to simplify the stack because it was increasingly hard for non tech geeks to know which card to go for with so many variants - some often with the same name but different specs.

A RTX 3070 TI with 16gb would be nice... :)

I meant it's confusing because there will probably be hardly any performance difference between the three models.

Hardly likely to be a 'super' version just 3 - 4 months after the launch of the original units, with all production outsold several times over. Just because Nvidia can, doesn't mean they will, but even if they did decide to, it wouldn't make any sense to launch a new card until September at the earliest, and then it would be only another year before the RTX4080 range launched.

The mythical Ti version of the 3080 with 20GB makes equally little sense, which might be why Nvidia keeps deciding not to launch it (latest predicition have it shelved until Spring 21 at the earliest. Remember that according to NVidia the RTX3080 is a £650 card, the RTX3080Ti is expected to be a £999 rrp, so at least a £350 uplift on current 3080 prices pushing it to £1150 at the cheapest up to £1250 + for a fancy one, and all for a 5 - 10% performance gain.

Why would anyone pay that much more for so little in return? it doesn't make sense, and maybe Nvidia thinks so too.
