Acer Motherboard and GPU

I've got an Acer M2631G PC and runs fine off the IntelHD DVI but when put a GPU in it doesn't seem to detect it like it'll give a black screen when the GPUs in and DVI lead is in the GPU but put it back in the motherboard DVI and the picture comes back, in device manager it doesn't even show an external GPU is connected... in the bios is can't unselect the primary video as onboard either, anyone know of anything else to try?

In the bios primary video is set to auto which should detect the graphics card.

What gpu and power supply do you have ?

it's just a gt 730 and a 300w psu but should be plenty... also tried a firepro v3900 in it and got exactly the same result

Could try to Clear the cmos on the motherboard, see if a bios update if available.

Tried that already apart from clearing cmos... However weirdest thing is just put the pc on before trying anything and worked first time from the gpu... No idea how but maybe there was dust in connections and me connecting and disconnecting multiple times cleaned them :confused:
