Radeon 6900 XT

Nope cause it looks ugly and cheap as hell with all that 'special' AMD stuff EK have produced. Unlike their special block for the 3080/3090fe which looks magnificent and at end of the day half of the reason to watercool is the visual aspect in my opinion.

If they had made this https://www.overclockers.co.uk/ek-w...medium=referral&utm_campaign=affiliategateway in an AMD version and possibly just put the AMD logo on it I would have picked that up in a heartbeat.

Lol, that made me chuckle

To be honest curly that don't look that great , I may have a different opinion if it was in just copper. But thats the thing, what some call ugly others call pretty.

Yeah it's daft at that price, shame as it looks like it reduces temps significantly.

That said, I'm perfectly happy running the beautiful stock cooler in complete silence at higher temperatures. :)

I love EK products and the company but have switched to heatkiller for this cycle.

I have promised SWMBO that i will switch back to Alienware laptop and dock for 7nm but the 'rona has put paid to that until at least 2022 :D

My word sir that lools magnificent.

Bit of an odd one, but hear me out:

On release days I had budget (at RRP) and wanted a 6800XT, willing to compromise with a 3080FE. Lol. As if.

Fast-forward to end of December and I score a 6900XT at almost RRP. A week later, a 3070FE at RRP. Goldilocks syndrome much?

One laughs at my 1440p 164hz screen on the games I play, the other kinda does also, but needs some compromises here and there in some games. This is running on a humble 3600, CL16 3200mhz, okay wd black nvme, 750 gold PSU. Stuff I play: Project Cars 2, Grid 2019, Dirt 4, Dirt 5, Sniper Elite 3-4, Doom Eternal, CoD (not Warzone, the rest).

So: what would you do? Go hungry for a month and stick to the 6900XT playing everything maxed out locked at 164fps and GPU utilisation at 40%? Or be ultra-smug about your second best quid per frame card which still runs most your stuff maxed out?

Full disclosure: mate of mine already set he'll rip whatever I don't keep off my hands, so don't just say "keep that one, I'll take the other one!", Hahaha!

Thanks!

Ps: still hope to get a 6800XT reference from OC when Gibbo gives the go ahead!!!

It depends if you are going to get any games that are more demanding, you are certainly future proofed with that card. The other thing is you got this card at MSRP I very much doubt that you will get a 6800xt at msrp. Food is over rated any way :p

Not to mention I'm fat and could do with not eating.

Game-wise, the last games I've downloaded (excluding games to run benchmarks) were Dead Space 2 and Bio-shock, hahaha!!!

MSRP was only the FE. 6900XT wasn't almost RRP, sorry. 1100 instead of 900 (somehow thought UK msrp was 1k).

So yeah, 460 Vs 1100 quid on the table here.

hhmmmm Blmey they are old games you could run on a rx580. Dont mention fat I've put on a stone since lock down.

6900 XT for me, but I might be biased as I'm already using one. :)

Maybe the bots and the scalpers were commissioned by the Gov so we would buy overpriced cards, not have money for food, lose weight and reduce risks to our health? #woke

Hahaha!!!

@LtMatt: it's hard saying 3070FE with the 6900XT right there, knowing what it can do.

An added concern I have on the 6900XT is that it's a gateway drug to a 5800X, AIO (currently have a wraith prism), CL14 ram, an x570 (currently have a b450 gaming pro carbon ac) and so on.

3070FE might see me stay put and not broke (or kicking myself for the next 4-5 years for having got rid of the 6900XT).

Hello fellow overclockers,

recently I bought the PowerColor RX 6900 XT Red Devil Limited Edition and now I am really struggling whether
I should get a 850w or 1000w power supply.
How much can the card really draw if overclocked?
PowerColor is recommending a 900w power supply.
Others have stated that 750w would be plenty enough.
Now I dont really know what psu I should get.

Can anybody help me out here?

Oh and I also got a Ryzen 7 5800X, an ASUS Crosshair VIII Formula, going to get a 360mm AIO and 32GB Trident Z Neo 3800Mhz Cl14 (4x8) Ram.

Agree. Once you've tasted the koolaid of ultra settings at max refresh rates with no compromises there's no going back.

I also game at 1440p with an AIB 3090 and 144hz freesync monitor, and with everything ultra settings it's amazing. I've got all those Dirt games but uninstalled them as just bought Dirt 5. Try Forza Horizon 4 demo (in M$ store) I averaged 175fps in Ultra settings.

No compromises and no regrets DO IT! I have a 3800X and CL16 3000 ram and in no rush to upgrade either TBH. If the 6900XT is already maxing your monitor out there's no need to upgrade the ram and CPU is there.
