@Gibbo, just went to my order page and it seems my order for the tuf 3080 OC ordered on 17th Oct 2020 at 17: 57 pm my last q update I was 216 been here since 900+ has disappeared!! only some previous orders from 2018, would be grateful for some help regarding this after nearly 4 months, i hope it hasn't gone t**s up !! please help! :eek: order no 5897788

What could possibly have happened is you were in the process of being upgraded maybe?

hi thanks for help, my mistake, I ordered the tuf 3080 oc to start with! thanks for reply, maybe they are upgrading ne to a 3090!! ha ha:p I really hope there is a reason other than a mess-up can't believe it could go wrong at this stage! .

Okay does anyone who has thier card know anything about the geforce now and watchdogs bonus we were supposed to recieve with the 3080 cards ?? JUst wondering if anyone has recieved the codes for these add-ons.

PS Hope everyone gets their cards ASAP.
 
Just been around all of the NV GPUs on OC website. The highest performing card you can buy today is a 1030, even then there is limited choice.
AMD you can get up to an R580.

Not a lot of choice of anything at the moment for builders.

Hi, Iv had my Asus Strix OC card since mid December and i didnt get my code because of the delays ..What i done tho a few days ago was send OcUK a webnote about it and since the geforce now and watchdogs promotion is now over they gave me a code for the new Call of duty

It's a bit weird, but it isn't exactly unprecedented. There was a 2gb and 4gb version of the 770gtx while the 780 and 780ti had 3gb - later they even had a 4gb 730gt lol. Back then I bought a 2gb 770gtx for a batch processing pc, a 4gb 770gtx for my wife's pc, and a 3gb 780ti for me. The 4gb 770gtx was a lemon, actually slower than the 2gb version in some games. By the time the 4gb vram became somewhat useful the card was in the cupboard.

My guess is nvidia are catering to 2 different markets. Budget conscious pixel whores (3060) and budget conscious fps whores (3060ti). They are very close on price so I guess people can just decide what's more important to them, more raw power and FPS, or a longer lifespan at higher texture resolutions.

I expect the same for the 3070 with a 16gb version eventually, and obviously a 20gb 3080 (ti). It looks like there may even be a 12gb 3080 (super?) at some point with the 384bit bus.

Due to bug currently in Steam VR, the Supersampling for Reverb G2 is messed up in any case, no need to run above 80% which is the HMD actual Resolution with a slight increase.
100% is way over HMD resolution and as it is so high to start with no need for any more, the display is very good, no need to go higher, it will kill your frames even with a 3080/3090.
 
Okay. I'm getting excited now. I was 175th in the first queue email on 29th September. Now 18th in line. And @Gibbo has said there are more ASUS cards on the way. Fingers crossed that includes more than 18 ASUS RTX 3080 ROG Strix Gaming OC cards. Been a journey. My old machine going on the blink at end of August. And having almost all the parts for a new machine but still awaiting a new GPU for the last 4 and 1/2 months. Hope this weekend is the weekend I get my card.
