BMW continue with their hostile "OK Boomer" marketing angle, despite criticism...

When people say boomers they generally mean baby boomers and generation X.
I think he was referring to the fact that Boomers don't get offended like younger folk do. Typical boomer response :p

Hmmm, I assume that I'd be in their target market (early 40s, income level able to afford a new BMW, need a larger family car etc) but that advert is a real turn off.

On top of the fugly car design!

It is their target market. Most 40 year olds are doing everything in their power to delude themselves they are not approaching the end of their life, and are still young, so the advert speaks to them, because they are totes young and not old like those other 40 year olds.

It has also made a load of people itt upset so its a big win all round.

Yes, I know... and what is your point?

I don’t think anyone born before 1980 gets offended by this stuff. It’s pathetic by the company, sure, but to get offended by it? Nah.

Yes it's a bit cringe-inducing, but it's just a light-hearted ad having a dig at millennial stereotypes, just as much as boomers. The line about having a few too many litres raised a snigger from me.

I thought being able to poke fun at stereotypes was what the good old days were all about anyway?

Now that is how to do an advert. Celebrate your past but look to the future. Well done Mercedes (and the Weeknd - great song).

Saw the EQC advert earlier and thought exactly the same. Great "then" Vs "now". A lesson to BMW on how it should be done.

Anyone born 1946 - 1964 is considered a ‘Baby Boomer’.
1965 -1980 babies are ‘Generation X’ followed by ‘Millennials’ then ‘Generation Alpha’ from 2010.
