Would I benefit from an upgrade ?

Currently have HyperX Fury 2400mhz ( overclocked to 3000mhz @ 1.3v )
2x8GB

Timings: DDR4-2400 CL15-15-15 @1.2V
Ryzen 5 3600 CPU

Was wondering whether i'd benefit from faster frequency ram, preferably with some RGB as i've now moved my case around so I can see through the panel. Would probably sell my current RAM to cut my losses.

Budget about £90

Are corsair vengeance any good ? I heard it's best to run dual channel, so 2x8GB rather than 1x16GB
These look good..

My mobo is B450 Tomahawk max

any suggestions ?

If you're not running dual channel, then yes, it is. If you are, I don't think I'd bother unless you're upgrading to 32GB and sell the old kit.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah i'm currently dual channeling.
I might just leave it then, not worth the hassle just for some RGB

I think Crucial 3600 CL16 with RGB is a little under £90 ... I honestly don't know how much of a difference you'll notice... the bigger consideration might be how much you can sell current RAM for and whether the difference is a non-consequential amount of £££.

What games, or other activities, are you into? Was resolution are you gaming at?

Faster RAM, and even better, tighter timings, make a massive difference on Ryzen. Or least they certainly did with my 2700X.

Significant improvements on minimum FPS in virtually all games, and a noticeable difference in day to day usage in Windows 10 too.

It’s the only reason I’ve just blown £300 on some B-die RAM kit for my new 5950X that’s inbound.

Just checked some of the benchmarking I was doing a couple of years ago and it gave me higher FPS even at 4K. IMO, it’s an often overlooked way of eeking out more performance out of the rest of your PC too.

Cyberpunk 2077 ( 1440p Ultra @ 45 fps )
GTA 5 ( 2160p @ 60fps )
CS GO ( 2160p @ about 200 fps )
Forza Motorsport at 2160p
Destiny 2 ( 2160p @ 60fps )

That's what I currently get

Is that the " Crucial Ballistix " ones ? Will my mobo support 3600mhz ? AS I heard some don't
I have a MSI Tomahawk B450 Max

Have you tried to overclock the ram speed further as you might be able to get 3600mhz with voltage increase and some slacker timings.

Is it safe going from 2400mhz to 3600mhz though ? I'd be willing to give 3200mhz a try.

Can't see how I can get much of an improvement tbh as most games play really well.

Yeah 3600mhz is fine, its the voltage that would damage ram not the speed and 1.35v is perfectly safe and standard on most DDR4.

whether or not you would gain much would depend on the resolution you game at, 1080P would give decent gains while 4k practically none with 1440p somewhere in between.

I'm quite impressed with what you get there, for a 3600, overclocked 2400 memory and 3060 Ti.

Cyberpunk is the main one that would benefit, and I believe it likes faster RAM... you can google that.

Not sure if your mobo will handle 3600, but you can always run at 3200 and tighten the timings. Crucial also offer 3200 sticks, but they are only about £3 cheaper... get the higher speed ones and tighten the timing.
