I am looking to get and build a PC for the first time, with a budget of £1,000. If i cant do what i want for £1,000 then I can stretch a little. I don't really have a clue about what gpu etc to buy for what I want to achieve hence why im here.

I want 1080p res, with 240 fps capablitiles in games like cod, apex legends etc. I dont care for RGB at all.

Your help will be much appreciated.

An RTX 3060 Ti would be good for 1080P or 1440P. However, they are out of stock and will swallow half your £1000.00 budget. £450.00

▷ Palit GeForce RTX 3060Ti Dual 8GB GDDR6 PCI-E… | OcUK (overclockers.co.uk)

Intel may be the way to go here, at a budget. Ironic I know. 10400f 6 core/12 threads. £129.99

▷ Intel Core i5-10400F 2.90GHz (Comet Lake) Soc… | OcUK (overclockers.co.uk)

A solid motherboard. But there are many options. £129.00

▷ Asrock Z490 Phantom Gaming 4 (Socket LGA 1200… | OcUK (overclockers.co.uk)

RAM, look s like prices may have gone up. 3000 Mhz, because I dont think higher speeds matter much with Intel. £94.00

▷ Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-2… | OcUK (overclockers.co.uk)

These are just suggestions. To point you in a direction.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £943.13 (includes shipping: £13.20)

I am afraid that £1000 won't cut it theses days with the crazy short supplies and out of stocks everywhere. That's what I could do without a video card. If you can wait do it, otherwise good luck and please post what you got.

Agree with George for £1000 not quite cutting it. I am looking at this for my own new build but am thinking could reach £1400 and taking HDDs out of existing machine.
This would leave £330 for a GPU, but that wont get you a 3060.

I have a monitor, and everything I just need the PC now.

If a £1,000 wont really cut it how much we talking?

£1000 is enough for a good gaming experience. Joxeon has left enough room in the build above for a 3060ti. Keep watching the overclockers forums very closely for an announcement when they are putting GPUs up to buy and you might snag a 3060ti.

3060Ti is where you need to be, i got lucky with mine and landed one very quickly but it was the last component i needed.

IMO get the GPU first and build around it, i landed a Founders Edition for Retail on a restock which was unbelievable luck and cost £370 if you did that you'd meet your budget however more than likely you end up with a other variant of the card and cost 100-150 more.

Just asking, is the 3060Ti enough for 240 fps in his games? Because that's what the OP wants and I haven't played those games.

If you look on YouTube, why don't you look for a speed test video for a 3060 Ti running the games of your choice.

Anyway, at 1080P, the CPU governs speed more than the graphics card, plus you need display port (1.2-1.4 and above) to drive that fast PC games monitor. At 4K, the speed will be dictated by the graphics card to a greater extent.

That board is anything but solid. The VRM is terrible. You would be better going with a cheaper B460 one like the MSI above if not overclocking.

Guys will a asus geforce rtx 3060 Ti 8 GB dual oc graphics card, do the job I wat it to ot to do? Or doesnt have to be a specsifc brand?

It will do the job just fine. Brand doesn't matter, its the chip that you are looking for in this case the 3060ti. The brands each have different coolers for the cards, 3 fans should make the card run cooler for overclocking but is more expensive. sometimes though bigger coolers might not fit in the case, eg its too long or takes up too many slots. A dual cooler card will usually fit in any ATX case
