You will be waiting longer than march mate

90% of people weren't preordering, the immense traffic on the website froze it meaning the stock levels didn't update so it looked like there was stock. Nonetheless, keep preaching your righteous spiel, it's entertaining.

See! You just don't get it, making excuses again and again. I hope you wait 3 extra months;) to get the card to play your games. And I hope they charge you 50% more as you deserve all of that treatment.

Simply, I will never succom to this disaster. When Nvidia and said companies hold the worlds gpu market to ransom because people are desperate to play video games. £650 for a gpu is already ridiculous. People paying £1700 need to really ask themselves some serious questions as this is going to get much worse.

@ScottiB How do we go about getting a code please?

My 3080 arrived this afternoon.

Cheers in advance.

If this is for the Watchdogs Legion game, It looks beautiful, but the game is so horribly woke it's sickening and just to make things worse it's also boring and repetetive. Even the Guardians hacks didn't like it.

Oh, and so it doesn't offend some of the **********, all the people in it are also ugly, and none are particularly likeable either !

how on Earth does something white falling from the sky when it's cold get censored ?

Not good news, my 3080 suprims appears to be DOA, not using a riser cable and have updated bios but the motherboard isn't detecting it, I don't think I've ever been so sad
Did you get it working? The one I got is for a cousin who's not gonna get it until February. I'm a bit worried I'll end up giving him a dead card now...

Do you have it on hand? I'd pop it into a PC and check if it's really bugging you, especially if you're careful unboxing it.

How long did you wait for the DOA Card? Never pre-order
I ordered in September. I have a personal Suprim that works great, but after seeing Devvo's comment I'm a bit worried about this batch. Will plug it into my machine to make sure everything's ok.

You are lucky because I am a game programmer and I need my card to do my work to be able to get into uni and I’m lacking behind because my current gpu can’t handle my game.
This card that should arrive will give me the technical boost so I can finish my work and get high marks.
I’m in the same boat, studying game development currently and can hardly render maya. Hope you get yours soon.

Shouldn't VAT be returned by OCUK, since it is not required for export anyway?

Well OCUK is registered for VAT in Ireland and we paid it when we bought the card. So really there should be no VAT owed. Whether DPD/Irish customs will accept that or whether they're gonna try to charge us again is likely gonna be down to OCUK/DPD sorting out all the correct paperwork, I won't pretend to know the ins and outs of the actual system though. If the easiest thing is to refund the VAT and have us pay VAT on delivery then I'm sure they'll let us know.

To my fellow irishmen who are in the same boat as me who are popping up here and there, I created this thread on /r/ireland :https://www.reddit.com/r/ireland/comments/l0ll36/looking_for_info_on_import_duties_for_a_graphics/
By no meant an authority on the Brexit **** show that's a mere inconvenience to us, or import duties and all that, it does kind of point ( albeit word of mouth from those that have been through the system) to the fact that we've paid Irish VAT already, and that there are no import/customers duties on computer parts. The above quote also mentions that since OCUK is registered with revenue.ie, that we've paid the tax already. If we paid the tax, and import duties are sorted, then we should be good once or orders are no longer on hold. ( ordered 7th of Oct here, still 1000-1110 in the queue). Seems there is at least one brexit troll in the last few comments, ignore him, he cant get a self congratulating **** out of it, if you do. Might seem like a political comment, but its not really. I'm just trying to help out others who bought from OCUK as well, in a quandary, not of our making.

I might add, not the fault of OCUK's either. I've sent a few web notes looking for info on this previously, they've gotten as much info as the rest of us. They have been rather polite ( yet curt) in their responses thus far. Not their fault that Nvidia didn't stock up. lets not misappropriate blame here.

I think blaming specific OC staff either interacting on the forums or in their call centre would be inappropriate, but putting some of the blame on OC as an organisation is entirely appropriate. The global stock shortage is of course out of their control, but they were woefully unprepared for anything other than a smooth launch (in a year full of extraordinary events) and have done almost nothing to remedy that in the intervening months. They took millions of pounds, if not tens of millions, up front for products they will not be able to deliver to customers within six months of the sales date and that's assuming the more optimistic predictions for the coming year prove to be correct. If supply continues at the rate up to now there will still be a large backlog of orders to be fulfilled 12 months after the initial sales date. They have failed to consistently maintain timely and informative updates up to now, four months since launch. They also clearly do not have any specific plans to address any upcoming potential complications, like cost price increases or discontinuation of specific products, and the complications introduced by Brexit illustrate this point perfectly. Instead of investing in more customer service resources to deal with the increased demand while the card shortage is ongoing, they've been sending out the message through the forums that the customers should be working harder to inform themselves before calling or addressing staff on the forums. It also seems like the few OC staff who do post here and provide information are often doing so in their own time. While that's a really sound thing for those guys to do personally, it's ultimately OC they're doing a favour for since it alleviates some of the pressure on them to keep us informed. They've been pretty good about handling refunds but I don't think they should get any bonus points for doing the things they're supposed to do. In short, they're just as guilty as Nvidia, Asus, Gigabyte, or any of the rest of taking their market for granted. I can only speak for myself but it was a bad idea for me. This is my first and last purchase from OC. This is obviously a challenging situation for all involved but I don't think it's unfair to say OC have not risen up to the challenge.
