Hi guys pretty new to pc's, bought one already made by someone else second hand around 9 months ago solely to start playing iracing in VR, original pc was an i7 6700k paired with a gtx1080 on an Asus z170m plus mobo.
I've just bought a Rtx3070 and a ryzen 7 5800x and my new msi mag x570 tomahawk WiFi mobo should be arriving today.
My windows OS is on my m.2 ssd, if I put this on my new mobo will Windows automatically work? Anything else I need to consider before swapping it all out apart from updating the bios on the new mobo to support the Ryzen 7 5800x ? Sorry If these seem like dumb questions, thanks in advance

Windows will still work but you may need to reactivate it as the license is usually tied to the motherboard if it's not linked to your Microsoft account.

Personally would do a clean install when changing platform but not generally necessary

I have the license key but it won't be tied to my Microsoft account as it was already on the pc when I bought it

Great, hopefully that will be easy enough, appreciate the help, I managed to swap over all my stuff to a new case and rebuild it, but have never done a build from scratch with either Intel or amd

I swapped my M2 drive to AMD B550 chipset from Intel Z170 chipset, and it worked great. I re-activated quite easily with Windows 10 Pro 64 bit. I think Microsoft is a lot less strict on moving to new hardware nowadays than before. Oh and the 5800X flies, I built a computer with one and use an MSI board like that and all was good.

Note, I flashed the boards bios with no RAM or CPU fitted, with a Power supply and Fat 32 format USB stick. Took about ten minutes and worked perfectly twice.
