Well its been 5 years already, so looking to upgrade my gaming PC

currents specs:

OS: Windows 10 64bit
MB: ASUS Maximus VIII Hero
CPU: Intel i7 6700k
RAM: DDR4 16GB @ 2133Mhz
HDD: 1TB
SSD: 250GB
GPU: Asus Strix 980Ti 6GB

I know the current affairs with new GPUs will delay the upgrade, not sure whether or not to commence and do a new build or just upgrade current parts

Only really used for gaming, cs:go, warzone, rust, Tarkov

Thanks

How is your pc performance is it struggling in any area ?

Have you got your games on a ssd ?
Currently maxing out on Warzone, i do need to do a full reboot of the pc as the performance in general has been been slacking.

no i boot i put window on the SSD, i was planning to get a 1Tb on if im upgrading or building a new one

Overheating graphics card. Or PC.

Pull it out and clean it, perhaps re apply thermal paste to GPU. Replace CPU cooler? CPU cooling/reapply thermal paste,

Or some cooling issue. Case got plenty of fans? And have you cleaned it of dust?

My 980 Ti pumps out lots of heat 250 watts TDP.

If problems persist, test with a borrowed graphics card to see if that's the issue. Otherwise its a matter eliminating the cause.

Last resort buy second hand GPU. Say a 1660 Ti. GPU are over priced new and used right now.

GPU and CPU could use an upgrade but for gaming the GPU upgrade would make more sense. Also depends what PSU u have as a low quality one may cause problems for the high power consumption of these new cards

Ill just clean up all the coolers, fans and re apply paste and do a reformat for the time being til all the new stuff comes out later in the year, no point since we cant even get a hold of new GPUs
