Hi.

Will you get for the same price;

A) z490 maximus xii extreme.

B) z590 maximus xiii hero.

To use with a 10900k (11900k in the future), Samsung pro 980 (pcie 4) and RTX 3090.

I'm not sure if the ssd will use the 4xpcie 4 lines of rocket lake. It's confirmed that the GPU will use the 16 lines pcie4 with 11900k but the SSD not confirmed.

I don't think the pricing for the Z590 boards have been released yet but from what I can gather they are going to be significantly more expensive than the Z490 boards. I have read that the Z590 Asus here will be 505 Euros. What that will be I pounds I have no idea

https://www.google.com/amp/s/wccfte...etailed-over-1000-us-for-flagship-boards/amp/

The price will be the same or very similar. It's just about the deal that I have for the xii extreme.

It's 899€ and I can get it today for 540€. The XIII z590 hero will be the same price. More new but not as high end.

Anyone to help me decide?

Asus did reply to my email about pcie 4.0 ssd and rocket lake:

" I know that Z490 runs PCIE 4.0 with 11th CPU ONLY "PCIEx16_1 / _2" (x16_1+x16_2 is still limited to 16 lanes overall)

The remaining native pcie_x4_4.0 ssd must be designed from the cpu pcie controller layout,

Only the 500 series chipset can have it.

The z490 m.2 pcb layout design is all towards PCH, not towards CPU PCIE controller.

This is a difference on the physical circuit and cannot be modified from the firmware."

So it looks like we won't have pcie 4 in the ssd line. The dimm.2 could be the only option but they didn't mention about it
