Hi all

Like most we don't currently have much money but one of my sons is using our desktop (ryzen 5 1600, Nvidia 1060) for online school work and then minecraft afterwards and the other is having to use an old laptop for both the same. He mentioned even in classes it has issues and in gaming it is poor.

So we've tried to find money from here there and everywhere and thought we'd get something with a dedicated GPU for about £500 all in but obviously I'm behind the times and i can't get much at all that will meet both needs. Also, it's been a long time since i built a PC and even thinking about installing windows scares me.

So i wondered if i bought a new laptop maybe would that be easier and I'd get more for my money.

I found the - Asus TUF gaming fa506ii Nvidia gtx 1650 ti, 8gb, 15.6" 144hz Ryzen r5-4600h - which was more than we wanted to spend.

Any thoughts and recommendations welcome.

Cheers, Marc

So I've found 2 laptops as options and both allow 0% finance.

ASUS TUF GAMING A15 FX506LH-HN002T at £750
And MSI GF63 THIN at the same price

Both have the Intel 10300h cpu and 1650 gpu however the MSI is max q which i believe it's lower than the standard 1650 isn't it?

Max q has power limits reducing the performance of the 1650 so it can fit into a thin and lighter laptop without heating up.
