Anyone gone from a 3090 to 6900XT?

Personally went from a 3090 FE to a 6800XT.

I use the Samsung G7 240hz - happy with my choice, mainly coil whine based is why i changed over after seeing how quiet my standard 6800 was in my other pc.

Cant say i see much difference in game at all, but i never play with ray tracing on.

Let's process the processor while we process the graphics processors

Love the registration, incidentally this is the same guy that built that massive rig with 78 cards!

Well I have ordered a 6900XT cant wait!
i cant wait to get my hands on a 6900xt, got a card and block incomming, my 3090 fe is a great card but power draw is nuts hence why i'm giving team red a go, we all know drivers age like fine wine with amd and yes there are problems along the way but in the end amd delivers a great gaming experence, if the 3090's power draw was lower i'd have stuck with it but that and the amount of ram thats not being used even at 4k, i cant justify keeping it anymore
mines out for delivery XD
Welcome to the family. :)

How do you guys rate the 6900Xt over the 3080? I cannot afford a 3090 right now so its either hold out for a 3080 or get a 6900xt, but a 6900xt is right at the very top of my budget and Im reluctant given that ray tracing is supposedly better on the 3080's?

If RT is such a big selling point for you wy are you considering the 6900Xt? If it isn't a big selling point then buy what you can afford/are comfortable with (6900xt in this instance) and go play games.

cant say im overly impressed with rt in control. is that just me or anyone else grossly underwhelmed considering all of the hype? its only 1 game but still. for the performance difference i was kinda expecting miracles in levels of detail. set to highest settings and rt on high too. :p

What have you done! Now we are going to have 10 pages of arguments:D

I tried it Control and Shadow of the Tomb Raider and couldn't notice the difference either. But then I suppose you could argue that it's hard to tell the difference with a lot of graphical settings...

has been for years now. im currently playing assasins creed valhalla and I can't tell the difference between Low and Ultra clouds...

Yet the hordes of people who demand Ultra settings continues to bewilder me

You can't tell the difference between Ray Tracing on and off in control?

Shadow of the tomb raider I can understand, as it only has ray traced shadows.

No, although maybe I didn't give it a fair chance as I didn't play for very long with it on and there wasn't a lot happening in the area I tried it. Is there a particular place on the map where it's more prevalent that I can give it another try?

I’m so indecisive about this. I have no idea what to get and don’t want to regret the purchase.

get a RTX3090 or buy a 6900XT.. I have a Ryzen 5900x so feel like the 6900xt is a good choice but will I regret that? Is it worth buying the Red Devil or Nito+ 6900over the reference cards? Help..

This one I can answer, no it isn't (the reference cards are excellent this time around). Save some money and get an MBA card imo, love mine :)

my refrence asus card is a beast, on air its super quiet, and has decent oc headroom, just playing around and have set 2650mhz in the graphics driver and in games i see spikes close to 2600mhz and in 3dmark i see just over 2300mhz, i have a waterblock en route so when thats installed and i'm back up and running i'll post what my refrence boad can really do :)

I don't think you would regret either card tbh. 6900XT is definitely much better value and I doubt you'd notice a difference in performance between them.
