Flash bios on B550

Hi All,

Does anyone know if you have to upgrade the bios software on the Aorus b550 pro ac for an AMD Ryzen 7 5800x? I have seen conflicting information and could do with some clarity.

If new a good chance you will need to update the BIOS, if you have a 3000 series cpu you could stick that in and update it or if it has a flash button then you can do it without a cpu even.

It has a Q-flash button on the rear. Am i going to need a free USB stick to do it?

Yes you will need a usb stick to copy the bios file to. Any old usb stick will be fine and seems most 2.0 usb sticks (old ones) work better for updating the bios with qflash. Just make sure to format it to fat32 and unzip the file and copy to the usb stick and stick in the port qflash expects the usb stick to be in, read the manual for the port if not marked.
