Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

Does anyone know what is happening with NIO's stock at the moment? Now, perhaps naively, when they released favourable results on 1 Feb I thought this might start a bit of an upward trend again after a couple of weeks of it just being flat. But somehow these good results have caused the price to fall further.

I don't get it.

Is it possible it was a bit overpriced and competition is hotting up?
The traditional unfavourable big motor corps are now really pushing eV?

Random guess

Pretty sure they are well known for falling after reporting earnings/deliveries.

Long term hold for me not bothered about these fluctuations

Yeah, similar with Nikola. I thought that was going to really push on from when i bought in and it went up to ~29, but it's fallen back to 23ish.

Fair play, cheers

Interestingly the minute after I posted that, the price has just shot up by nearly 4%. I'll never understand this game :p

I think that's one of the main things. You almost need to stop looking at it so often.

It's what annoyed me about GME, i found myself constantly checking the price, then i started trying to time buys/sells and it went well and i made a decent chunk on the way up, but then i got trapped during thr big fall from Friday to Monday and lost a pretty hefty chunk and then a few other desperate buys and ended up with a small loss when at one point i was up a decent amount.

It's a lesson to myself that i do much better at looking at long term buys and not aim for trading as it's so easy to get sucked in and get fomo from small spikes etc.

Don’t look for peaks and troughs. Just be happy to ride the direction.

If you look for perfect trades you will never be satisfied.

I know i just said i was going to concentrate on long term holds. But has anyone seen a traders dream more than this (came across it by accident) :p

Ah good point. I hadn't bothered to check that far.

Virgin Galactic are still doing well out of the "meme" stocks. I like the idea of it and wouldn't mind putting something in it long term, but it feels like it's also inflated from everything else because of the level of shorts.

That is people buying the wrong AMC and then realising. :D

That's amazing.
Didn't that happen with something else recently?

Elon musk tweeted something I believe.
Edit.. It was zoom

If you can't even get the right ticker.. Go home

Yeah i think so. I think Elon Musk tweeted something and everyone rush to buy shares and got the wrong ones. I want to say Etsy but i don't think that's right.
Whatsapp replacement messenger Signal and everyone bought Signal Advance thinking they were related. lolz

I know technical analysis is often scoffed at (and rightly so), but I've been following GME since open with a 9, 20, and 200 EMA (at 1-minute intervals) and so far, it could be used as a textbook case study.
