The real fine wine

Brave post :D

I agree with pretty much everything he said, especially the launch timing.

Yup DLSS 2.0 is very good.

Just a shame nvidia have to pay developers/publishers to use it in their games :p

Thankfully it seems like nvidia partner up with the main developers/publishers though, at least for games that I care about! Although I do have a sneaky suspicion that a lot of developers/publishers will "want" to use this anyway as it means they can spend even less time optimising their game for the PC.....

is using dlss the same as running a game at native ress? not really, should it be used in comparisons to compare fps vs a native ress? imo no as its not a real apples to apples comparison. all that said the 3070 is a good card at the price if you can get one at fe prices comapred to the likes of say the 2080ti.

Don't worry guys, Nvidia have the tech right now, and they use their money to get devs to implement.

However we are entering the next console generation. We see even more parity between the consoles and AMD's current offerings. Fine Wine should hit real nice when Avowed comes out built for RDNA 2.

On occasion, it's better.

See Death Stranding.
i think you missed the point?:p its like comparing 580p to 1080p and saying look the 580p runs faster well ofc its lower ress :D

ofc dlss wins, its running at lower ress. no way a 3070 is sparing with a 6900 without dlss in an apples to apples comparison much like it doesn't compete with the 3090.

I think this video has picked the obscure outliers. Whilst AMD have become far more competitive this gen they are still not consistent and still have odd outliers that are either notably higher or lower than their average and it seems the video has picked the lower ones and used DLSS to make some skewed point and then gleefully jumped on by the op.

I get what you mean but then it wouldn't have demonstrated the point he was trying to make. If your an end user why wouldn't you use DLSS ? So for a consumer It's completely relevant to benchmark games like that.

Exactly.

Could say the same about amds SAM and rage mode.......

DLSS 2.0 is very good, it does downgrade clarity a bit especially in motion but I'm sensitive to that sort of stuff.... majority of people probably wouldn't notice. Either way, if I had to pick between DLSS 2.0 @ 60/70+ fps or native @35/40 fps, give me the higher fps every day of the week.

AMD cards in terms of drivers/hardware outside of "features" does age better though i.e. vega 56 beating a 1080 for example.....

Looking forward to seeing how RTX and DLSS delivers for dying light 2, only game I'm hyped about now.

Not a fan of DLSS - I will put up with it for proper ray tracing but that is about it. While Cyberpunk with ultra settings really needs it at most resolutions and despite some aspects being "better" than native you see a lot of downsides as well - certain vertical objects leaving trails like VA smudging, some patterns result in additional levels of moire, some stuff is slightly smudged looking and if you are in a situation where the scene is periodically interrupted i.e. looking out the window of a car while going past foreground objects at repeated intervals like fence posts or signs, etc. you'll notice the scene isn't quite the same each times as it reappears - things like bushes and other objects with a lot of patterns on especially will be a close approximate but not 100% match between each time you view them.

I was almost ordering a 6800xt at £900 when I managed to get in an order for a 3070FE at £480 delivered. There’s just no comparison as far as value goes if you manage to get a FE vs the crazy pricing situation of everything else. It’s going to be a huge upgrade on my current card, and should be fine for me at 1440p.

OMG he can't see any difference so there is no difference:

You know, if you run the game at 800x600 you'll get even more FPS. And you can claim you see no difference, maybe there are enough fools who will believe you.
