I've got a 6 year old Electrolux washing machine and the washing is coming out stone cold, like it's been in an ice bath. It's also much wetter than it normally would be, even if I put on an additional rinse into the program. The drum door gets warm during the was so at least once during the cycle the water is heating up. So I think maybe it's a temperature sensor perhaps?

I thought all washing machines used cold water during the rinse cycles. It's probably not spinning correctly, so they feel colder as they are still wet.

Yeah that's what I thought, but it definitely feels colder and wetter so that might be the issue. But the spin cycle does appear to be working.

Rinsing is going to be cold water and at this time of the year water from the mains is colder than normal as its had to travel through cold pipes outside so theres that, its also why you have to turn up the heat on the electric shower this time of year

Rinse is always cold water and mains incoming at the moment will be around if not below freezing (mainline water pipes are insulated to stop it freezing but doesn't stop it getting crazy cold).

As for it being wetter, check the drain and make sure the trap is clear if it is then check the pump is working correctly.
