30xx Series Founders Edition

Nor is your post even if his monitor is 60HZ 50FPS will seem laggy on a LCD in many games as does 90FPS in COD-BOCW for some reason.

You miss the point; if the refresh is the same at every resolution then the CPU load is the same. There's nothing special from a CPU point of view about 4k versus 1080p if they are both at 60Hz.

Appreciate that, but I couldn’t notice the difference between 60-80, hence why I limit it for games that target 60Hz instead. It’s not worth the extra watts/heat if I can’t notice the difference.

Fair enough, it's all about personal preference. I've had gsync monitors for years and if it's below 70fps then I can tell without the use of a frame indicator. I couldn't bear 57fps, but that's just me for some reason. :)

Arrived at 830 am finally. Got to be the first time i've had an Nvidia card in over 10 years.

Blistering at 1080p. Just need a 1440p monitor now to justify its purchase.

That is wrong, at lower RES (not even talking high HZ) the CPU matters more dependant on games engine.

I have no clue why you go around quoting me and talking BS TBH but most of what you say is pointless.

Jesus, I must have exchanged views with you twice in all the time I've used this forum and you've been quite the charmer on both occasions.

You're talking pish, but I'm happy to leave you to it.

Can someone tell me the FE policy at the moment.

I bought a 3090 as I was desperate. Sold my 2080ti in the hope's of getting a 3080 but months have gone by and there does not seem any likely hood of getting one anytime soon.

So bought the 3090 in Hope's of moving that on when I get the 3080 if I can get one.

However when ordering it said something along the lines of 1 per customer. Is that per FE model or just one card per address.

Apparently few pages back:

Another declined order going for the 3080FE, got a 3060Ti FE for my son at the beginning of Jan, chat confirmed won't be able to order a 3080FE to this address.

You are only able to order a combination of: 2 x 3090 - or 1 x 3090 with 1x 3080 OR 3070 OR 3060Ti

I know there trying to stop scalpers but it doesn't really, loads on ebay already, they just use multiple addresses to get em.

I didn't really want to have to do that, but you gotta play the game I suppose.

So in theory you should be able to get a 3080FE fine still.

Just to inform you that Overclockers currently have online stock of SAPPHIRE RADEON RX 6800 XT NITRO OC SE 16GB GDDR6 PCI-EXPRESS GRAPHICS CARD for £929.99.

Nice try OverPricers, nice try.

Wondering if you can help a brother out, I have distill set up for the Nvidia website & its monitoring the 3080 founders but looking at the time of the most recent drops its not alerted me of anything so I don't think I have it set up properly or should I have it set up for the OC competitors website I feel like i'm missing out majorly if I've got it monitoring the wrong website! @Cleeecooo

Yeah I actually didn't get the ping from the nvidia website.

I got mine from the page on the competitor website specifically for the 3080. Usually the page should give you a 404 page not found error if you were to set it up now.

Whut? U trolling?

Nah I honestly had no idea! I was always planning on watercooling so didn't pay too much attention to the cooler and the pics always only show a single fan when I scroll past them.

I had a 3090 FE and 3080 FE approved :)

And the RADEON RX 6800 XT NITRO+ OC for £900. £1400 for a 6900xt as well.

I agree with this, I used to play whII at 720p as it could really boost the fps, especially on DX12. its all about the cpu and gpu utilization, if either one is too high /pressured, your fps will very likely tank. Ive used the Microsoft game bar performance monitor to check this in game, its definitely true for cyberpunk and watchdogs - you need to find a balance by tweaking settings, if hw cant quite cope.

DLSS can hugely decrease gpu utilization depending on the mode selected, which I think explains the large fps boost in many games.

Ray tracing seems to consume a disproportionate amount of gpu utilization, it often tanks fps as a result - maybe not on 3080/3090 as much though.

I'll look again at the ray tracing options in Watch Dogs: Legions, it's possible RT requires high CPU utilization on a single core thread. I noticed it always dips to less than 50 fps when driving, even at the lowest resolution, on the low preset, with RT on medium.

Or, does RT generally only require GPU utilization? Or, maybe it could be something more obscure, like a lack of DDR memory bandwidth?
