Hi

I know the offer runs out on the 11/2 /2021 however is htis just when the codes are no longer given out or do they expire then?

I bought a 3090 and have the code which i need to redeem through geforce experience... but presumably my 3090 needs to be installed..... My PSU has not arrived yet and I am worried about plugging it in with my old 650w unit.

Also, does anyone know at what time UTC the codes normally expire?

Thanks

Not sure but couldn’t you install the card, massively underclock it, redeem the code and then remove it again?

A lot of faff but if you want the game redeemed...

thanks for your reply.... I am gonna give it a go. however afterburner was not installed so i have to hope the pc can get to windows.... and presumably if it can get to windows i will be able to activate it so long as i dont start gaming.

All that said............... I was absolutely not going to game on it and was gonna miss my gaming session tomorrow.... .but a cheeky undervolt and underclock may be ok..... it only needs to be playable, not optimal.

thanks for the suggestion

Do not run the game, just let the GPU idle even then it will not be at 100% in a games menu.

I am not sure you need to install the game just redeem code, you need 3 things to do so.

1) The 3090 installed.

2) GFE installed.

3) Install Battlenet (I had never used this before and would not if not normally) as I prefer Steam.

It is massive download and again 2 massive patched and a few smaller patches since installed it a couple of week go and it still runs like poop even with RTX off.

my PSU is decent enough a corsair CS650 gold... it is getting on a bit tho so dont want to work it too hard, esp when i have a 750w replacement sitting next to me all bar the 8pin cpu header.

anyway i turned it on and all seems ok, geforce experience is installed (that junk will be coming right off again as soon as i am done, and blizzard is installed.

last question (sorry full on noob today but i have a cold so bear with me :D )

i am activating the game for someone else..... i assume i am ok being logged into my geforce account and then logging into their blizzard account? or do i have to be in their geforce account as well.... i dont want to have a scenario where in 18 months time i try to activate another game and it insists i have a different blizzard account tied to my geforce account.

Thanks

Will be fine just to load windows and redeem the code. As long as you dont try gaming on it!

I think you need their account details, many did so in the MM and stated how they did it but I think they change their GFE pass temporary and give to you then you activate it on their GFE account and then they change pass back gain.

thanks for everyones help..... Game now activated and PSU didnt blow up. :)

just hope the cable arrives ok for my new psu so i can properly test out the new GPU soon
