*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

I was Position 6 on the last update...

I got the shipped notification Monday, but it was after 8 oclock so... DPD got a bit confused. Had my hour timeslot for today so should be here soon!
Lucky, all I have so far from dpd I'd "we have received your order details but not yet received your parcel"

I havent had a Queue update in over a month and a half, anyone in the same boat? 3080 oc strix

If you are in Ireland or a country effected by the DPD / Delivery issues you arent getting updates. I havent had an update since Christmas. They advised your queue postition still updates and they will hold your item when it gets to you but it will not be shipped or you will not get queue updates until it is resolved.

So because if a dispute with couriers (we are still getting regular stuff from the UK here with absoloutely no problems) they are not going to update our queue positions in their fulfilment queue but have said dont worry trust us we'll set your gfx card aside once the whatever delivery disputes have been fixed? I dno that doesnt sound right at all.

Its due to VAT issues since brexit came into affect, DPD are actually still shipping to Ireland rn but thats gonna be on anything shipping after Brexit.

It is an issue with the tax that we had paid and OCUK being registered with Irish Tax service, but couriers refuse to accept it if tax has been paid... it seems like a mess that has been going on for weeks that they are still working on a solution for. they advised it would be a few more weeks until it is resolved. Not ideal but they mentioned solutions would be we pay the tax again on the import to Ireland and OCUK refunds the other tax we paid.... or could lead to cancelling and refunding our orders. After waiting months this would be horrendous.....

If ASIC hardware is so superior then why are miners buying up every 3060Ti and 3080 they can get their hands on?
New ASIC coming out in July hashes 2,500 which is equal to 25 3080's. That's one small machine without the need to maintain multiple rigs with cards, motherboards, power supplies, etc. 2,500 Mh is also over €200 per day of ETH being mined. The risk with ASIC miners is that when their race is run in mining there is no resale. GPU farms can sell the cards to be used in pc's

I also never got an email about this. I only found out when I asked them directly what was happening with my 5900X order which has been with DPD since the 05/01....

I get mine weekly but you may want to check other folders, like junk and the 'Other' tab if you have a hotmail account. The OCUK emails tend to bounce around those folders regardless of whether you've marked them as okay.

There are 3 major risk with ASIC for ETH.

1) The new miners must be ordered now for a delivery in June/July and no one can predict what the ETH value will be at this point.
It could continue to go up BUT the Tether could crash all the crypto markets before the delivery of the ASIC (we will see the results of the US court investigation).
On the other hand you could buy and receive immediatly a S19 to mine bitcoins. it's less profitable but less risky.

2) Vitalik Buterin, (the guy behind the ETH project) is trying to move from a POW concept to a POS in 2022. If this time he isn't late you could end up by receiving your ASIC mid 2021 and having it running for only 6 months before becoming useless.

3) Asic miners can stop working if there is an algo change. This is what happened to the antminer E3. If the E3 was still working, it would be as good as 2 (3080)gpu.

So yes, the increase of hash power can make an asic useless but in the case of the ETH, I would say the risk is different

Hi @Gibbo I have a question regarding the last couple of updates about MSI cards. On the 1st of Feb you said that 10 gaming X trio were expected, and yesterday you said that you’re still owed another 5 cards.
Are the 5 cards part of the 10 you were expecting on the 1 of Feb, or are these on top of the 10?
