Tried to install a new m.2 drive today which was not recognised so I put it back how it was with original drive. PC boots OK but no signal to monitor. Maybe 1 in 10 times it will show a signal and GPU plays games/stress tests fine but the light is still on and mostly wont display a signal to the monitor. I have a non IGPU chip but Ive tried my Series X into my monitor which works so its not the monitor and Ive tried all day with various different things but nothing. Any ideas what this could be?

which gpu? also have you tried a BIOS reset to rule out some bad stuck settings ?

Aorus 3080. I took the mobo battery out and touched the two cmos jumpers together but still wont let me access the bios in anyway?

Honestly this has me baffled. None of it makes any sense but Im sure its the motherboard.

3080s and 3090's have had a VBIOS update regarding such issues of no video, have you made sure the card you have has not had a VBIOS update too? Also have you tried the second VBIOS switch to rule out a VBIOS issue with the one you are using.

example :-

https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-N3080AORUS-X-10GD/support#support-dl-bios

it has VBIOS updates at the bottom. check if yours has one make sure to use the right model, you didnt state the model you have apart from a Aorus 3080 card, they come in extreme , masters oc and none oc etc.

My Palit GameRocks 3090's had an update that stated this in the update :-

VBIOS Release Notice
While blind booting legacy and CSM mode may result in no display when using a
DP-to-DVI or DP-to-HDMI adapter.
NVIDIA is updating the existing VBIOS to resolve this issue.

I know that but seems people that used the updated bios fixed the VGA light issue on motherboards and also allowed people to see the screen even using DP or HDMI. I think more to that update than stated as it fixed others with same problems. Maybe worth checking.

Also when you do get to windows check with GPU-z what PCIe speeds you are connected at on it, if you only have a single card and not using any pcie lanes it should show as pcie v3 x 16, if it shows 8 or less maybe the slot is not working right so try another slot too 16x slot, but some 16x slots are only wired 8x but worth a try to rule out the slot.

Thanks man. I have the rev 1 version but my worry is that I flash the bios and when it reboots, doesnt load up and I bork the card as well as the mobo (should it turn out to be the mobo).
