30xx Series Founders Edition

Only real thing to go by is the drops are usually from Wednesday onwards and usually in the afternoon, going by the spreadsheet at least.

Has anyone else had performance problems in games, that are seemingly related to lower frequency DDR3/4 RAM speed? If so, which games do you think RAM frequency was a bottleneck for, causing FPS drops below 60 fps?

I've finally got my 3080FE set up and the cooler is a beast, the GPU temperature is below 75C at all times, mostly around 70C and most of all it is a lot quieter than I was expecting (barring some coil whine which can be obnoxious at times). I'd say it's equivalent to a high quality AIB card. The build quality is also fantastic.

On my custom fan curve I left on from the 1080ti the temp didnt go above high 50s for me when I tested, I then turned it off to see what would happen on default fans, it got about 10c hotter but also was much quieter. FE cards are usually horrid for cooling but on these cards they have upped the game a lot.

Yeh, i got a 3060ti and im seriously impressed with the build quality, temps and cooling. It certainly isnt just your regular reference design/cooler. Ive never had an FE card before or a reference card for years, and was sort of expecting what you used to get with reference coolers (ie a cheap plastic box with a jet engine fan :p).

Aye, the 3090FE is a thing of beauty. Seriously impressed with the build quality, look and feel, cooling and low noise levels, and obviously the performance. Its sheer heft and girth makes me grin every time I look at it. Ooooh missus!

surely it’s too late now for a drop?

last week on Thursday was at around 3.05? Missed out on 3080

Yeah it was at about 3:10, I missed out on Thursday because of this, dropped my guard as it usually drops between 1 - 3pm, so I assumed I was free to go make lunch. I was wrong :(.

If not getting the latest and greatest graphics card is stressing you out, it’s time to take a serious look at your priorities and whats actually important in life.

Sorry if that sounds harsh but getting the latest and greatest graphics card isn’t very important unless you need it for your job. Even then an older card will still work and generally cost is less of an issue.

Sorry but it's not as simple as "Not being able to upgrade".

Imagine trying to build your son/daughter a gaming PC right now. The whole situation is stressful being unable to buy etc.

I found it quite frustrating, after trying a few different options to track + buy an FE card, the only one that worked was signing up for PartAlert. And, I think my expectations were a bit too high, I thought AIB availability would improve significantly after a few months.

When it comes to buying presents, I wish they would just allow pre-orders, then at least you know that it *should* eventually arrive - if late.

I think people have to be realistic about getting a RTX 3080, it's the hardest graphics card to buy, without paying well over RRP. Also worth taking into consideration that Nvidia and graphics card manufacturers didn't plan on flooding the market with the most in demand graphics card (RTX 3080). We also don't know if the manufacturer (Micron?) would even be able to produce enough GDDR6X VRAM to cope with higher stock levels, especially with each RTX 3090 coming equipped with an (arguably excessive) 24GB of VRAM.

Can't you just tell a son or daughter you can't get hold of a gpu? If they cry about it then I think they are maybe too entitled.

I would not be surprised if the RTX drops are little on the thin side for the rest of this month and the first week of march.
i would forget about it until Easter unless money is not an issue in which case you have lots of choices.
