Hi there.
I have a serious problem with damp and, from the research I have done, Meaco seem to be the consistently recommended models (including Which? and Good Housekeeping).
I am happy to spend more for these models as they are going to be on a lot and seem cheaper to run.
I have narrowed things down to these two models, but cannot quite decide on which to go for:

Meaco 20L LE - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07XDZ6...ome-gb-1193872155360161000-21&geniuslink=true
Meaco 25L LE - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00HO963A6/ref=emc_b_5_t?th=1

The first one seems to have the benefit of a Hepa filter, whereas the second seems to have a drying mode and a better DC motor.

Any advice on which to go for would be much appreciated.

Have a look on their website. When I brought mine (same model as above) they were offering extended warranty if brought direct.

I’ll have a look at the one we have when I get in. It has been an absolute revelation in the garage/utility area and has completely eradicated the damp/condensation.

I purchased a Meaco in 2019 for the room we do washing, absolutely brilliant and would buy again in a heart beat. We have a 'Dry Soon' heated washing stand so the room was getting very humid.

This is the model - seems oos now https://smile.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07DFPFZDF

But got it for 139.99, it's not too big so we can easily move it to other parts of the house.

Thanks for that - do you happen to remember the length of the warranty you got?

At the moment, they are offering 2 years when bought directly?

I have done quite a bit of research and it looks like the 25LE might be the better of the two I listed. Might well be worth the extra £70 odd.

It was 3 years but I brought it a couple of years ago so things may have changed.

do you have a loft? I tried dehumidifiers and unless your damp is confined to one room or you buy a dehumidifier for every room your wasting your time. I bought and installed one of these.

solved all my condensation and mould problems etc almost instantly, mine were due to a large fish tank and no trickle vents ontop of the usual condensation from family life etc.

We had mould growing behind wardrobes and and real bad condensation on windows. All gone now.

May I ask just one more question in relation to your 25LE, please?

In humidistat mode, does the device wake up for a few minute (every 30 minutes) to check that it is not needed? The 20LE has something called Control Logic but it is not clear whether the 25LE does.

Sorry fella I have this one not the 25le.

But it does have the smart control logic and I think it wakes itself up every 30 mins to check if the humidity level has risen or not, if not it goes back to sleep.

Thanks mate - sorry about that. It is really difficult to know whether the 25LE has that. It has two modes "humidistat" and "auto" and it is really difficult to work out what the difference is.

We have the 25L LE are are really pleased with it. Nice and quiet too with the DC motor.

Are you able to possibly confirm/clarify, please, Burned Alive?

You could always give them a call or shoot them an email.

Im not sure specifically about the control logic but that’s how it appears to work.

We use it on humidistat mode targeting 55% constantly but on low fan speed only. If you set it to auto it will also regulate the fan speed depending on humidity levels.
