*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Joking aside you could be correct ! and theres me thinking id made a mistake spending £1500 on a 3090 last october. thats over four months ago. i am now seeing 3080's sell for that price. i need to stop snooping in this thread. its depressing

Benchmarks show the 3090 is like 5-8 fps faster than the 3080 but yet it's double the price of the 3080. So an overstocked 3080 would be neck and neck.

Normally I'd make the argument that the 3090 is a productivity card and should be kept to enterprise solutions only.
But nvidia really shafted everyone on that with their gamers first garbage.
How are I meant to convince the IT dept to buy me a sweet new 'deep learning' rig when it has gamer on the front. I feel like a kid trying to convince their dad that it's 'for school'.

Well if you can show me some £750 3080"s for sale then I'd agree with your point. My 3090 has a 10% overclock so I disagree, 3080s aren't as powerful.

HAHAHA I cannot believe people still have their pre-orders in after all this time. I cancelled mine back at the beginning of November and managed to buy a 3080 literally 2 days after just waiting for stock refills on other sites.

You guys still in the queue are stupid lmao, OCUK have shipped less 3080's than ur local corner shop has. Mr "We have the best relationship with Nvidia in the UK" haha

I think that OCUK owners are Etherium miners... So little shipped from here that I wouldn't believe a different explanation.

I emailed ASUS to ask them why there are so few 3080's arriving in UK stores, and I got this reply TDLR it's Brexit to blame.

Thank you for reaching out and for your patients as we try and get you accurate feedback to the situation.

We know the demands for these new 30 series graphics cards is far outstripping supply and can cause frustration, but we are trying our hardest to ensure you get the graphics cards into your hands as quick as possible. We are seeing UK shipments face delays in 2021 with brexit issues, but these are now being resolved.

ASUS, TUF and ROG 30 Series GeForce RTX graphics cards are constantly in production and are being shipped as soon as they physically can be. We apologise that this is a frustrating time but please make sure you check your order status as frequently as you can and look for any direct communication with OCUK.

Again, we appreciate your patience and hope that this gives some form of clarity to the situation.

Know what I just noticed the geezer mentions OCUK, which is pretty funny as I never mentioned them in my email, lol, the fella's in the wrong job he should be doing a mind reading act ha ha.

So, you've posted here just to troll the people waiting for a card? Nice one......

To add some insult Zotac USA just tweeted (and deleted) a mining rig showing an array of their 3070s being 'hungry for coin' as they put it. Worse still was the 'PcMasterRace' hashtag accompanying a photo of all white cards. Mein Kores indeed. https://www.techradar.com/uk/news/g...-has-been-endorsed-by-gaming-gpu-manufacturer

I'm expecting AiB's to have a mining sub-division soon even if some haven't already (or heavily invested in a farm or two). It's going to get *bad* :(

OCUK have us all fooled. They actually have everyone's card's in their warehouse, stacked floor to ceiling, but, thanks to covid and all the rules that come with social distancing and all that, they have quite possibly gone loopy.

What are they doing with all this stock waiting for despatch I wonder? Well, I personally think that each week they hold an in-house competition to see who can build the best GPU fort. This is judged by a crack panel of judges and crowns the winner on Thursday's. The winner then gets to spin 2 lottery tumbler's; one for Brand, and the other for the number of cards that can be dispatched. Said cards are then packed and shipped. This also gives them time to update queue number's and send out those email's full of hope to us customers.

Unfortunately, some brand's are getting the fuzzy end of this competition. There is hope. because their evil game has a time limit.

On 1st April, OCUK will announce that they've had our cards all along, brexit was a scam, covid was a plot to stick it to train companies for raising prices every year and for the toilet paper conglomerate to get some extra cash in. They'll say 'April fools' and send out everyone's card that day.

Mystery solved! :D:p

Just in case it's not obvious. This is a work of fiction. Events and incidents are the products of the author's imagination. Any resemblance to actual events is purely coincidental lol

Sorry , but I'd pay £750 for an RTX 3080, rather than pay £1,900 for a 3090, when a 3090 only has 5-8% better performance in games, and that's at 4k otherwise the performance is the same. It is actually the worst card to get out of the 3070, 3080 and 3090.

MSI RTX 3080 comes over clocked as well and you can also run an overclock on 3080s as well.

Performance
What I noticed was RTX gaming at 4k looked just as good compared to 1080p gaming.

Anyone waiting for these cards is not missing out on anything. Gaming at 4k still needs improvement and 1080p is what looks good.

There's a good possibility they are lying about it anyway, if it was as easy as just going to another site and buying a card everyone would be doing it.

Quite a few 3070s and 3090s popping up on various sites, for all of about 1 minute before they are sold out. No 3080s for a week or so now.

The 3090s appear to be [a particular big-box electronics retailer] links, which are actually sold out (but the bot stock checker streetmerchant has difficulty string matching [retailer]'s site because they inconsistently indicate no-stock by either saying as much, or indicating that the device is available but not for delivery (and even then with different variations on the string used to indicate).) Thus false positives.

So now you get to decide how people should celebrate their holidays and what impact they should have?

The impacts of CNNY are well documented and happen year after year. They disrupt every industry that relies on shipping/manufacturing from the mainland and other parts of Asia, not just graphics cards. Every year, the whole country basically shuts down for at least two weeks so people can travel and see their families. How do you expect that not to have an impact on "flows"? If factories are not running, production is halted...If production is halted, there are no cards to ship. How hard is this to understand?

It's not an excuse at all. Manufacturing plants all across China are closed right now. I'm not sure how you to expect that not to have any impact.

The ignorance on display here is astounding.

Alright don’t get your knickers in a twist ;))
