Has anyone seen the auction prices for the 3060ti and 3070.

the 3060ti is going for £900+ recently and the 3070 is £800+

the world has gone mad. As far as I am aware the ti and 3070 hash at the same rate when tweaked and able to do it at the same power consumption. So the two cards are identical as far as mining is concerned. So makes zero sense that 3060ti is now more expensive than 3070...

I’m struggling to get my head around all this it is just completely nuts.

I had some buyers remorse when I brought my 3070 and that was for £560. I can’t comprehend the mindset of someone willing to pay £800+.

I’m done with upgrading now gonna sit on what I have for quite a while, hopefully all this craziness will just be a distant bad memory by then.

.

£560 for 3070 is a bargain mate. Every one that I have been watching in discord has been £650 or more. Some are coming out of the shop at £800-£850. Talking about gouging.

Is it from the Indian place?

world is full of idiots. it will end in tears like GME did.
I have the feeling that you’ll be right.

I see people asking if they should buy a 3080 at scalped prices over 1k GBP for mining ...

Then when I tell them to do some research they don’t seem to understand how mining works or how the difficulty is computed ...

Nah I brought it from ocuk.

I wanted a FE on launch day but they went instantly so I gave in and ordered but I initially didn’t want to pay more than founders money. Turns out it was the right thing to do.

This is just nuts though.

Mining is very profitable and low risk if you can buy something at rrp. Spending double the rrp does run the risk of you not coming out in profit breaking even. I think people are starting to lose their heads a bit.

Although, what happens if Bitcoin goes up a further 2x, 3x or 5x multiplying your mining profits? Could be worth it then.

Its all a bit of a gamble.

3060ti can perform as well as 3070 in mining but with less wattage, it is arguably the best mh/watt card available.

There's next to nothing in it with both cards tuned. Both can do 60mh/s at 120-130w.

The only reason the 3060Ti is rated better is the lower initial price made it much quicker to get to the point of making profit. At a higher price than the 3070 the 3060Ti is a mad buy.

Arrhh, I struggle to read posts where people use "brought" instead of "bought", it boils my blood

Back to the topic though, paying scalper prices is only worth it for a gamer if you plan to mine on the side... If you can mine to recoup the extra you paid (doesn't have to be the full price of the card) then it is worth it. 3060TI costing more than the 3070 is a bit silly though because the 3070 can be undervolted to match the power consumption of the 3060TI. When it comes to selling the cards in the future the 3070 will also be worth more
