Just been given my 1st Section 59 For Going over 3k revs?

Hey, hope everyone is well.

Long story short I was just on the way home from the supermarket, at a set of lights on to a empty dual carriage way I accelerated rapidly to the speed limit (40mph), must have hit 5.5k revs tops.

I cruise down the dual carriage way and notice a police car on my rear, I think nothing of it, 1 roundabout and 500 yards later he pulls me over. He states "I have pulled you over because you were doing 55 in a 40". I wasn't, he then said I was driving in an "antisocial" manner, the car was revving and popping quite a lot. He asked if I had used a race start or had a crackle and pop map, nope to both. He said basically to not go over 3k revs in the future so the car doesn't pop and thus isn't 'antisocial'. He made it out like he was doing me a favour by allowing me to take the section 59 instead of the alleged speeding.

Do I have any comeback from this? How exactly can I be given a section 59 for accelerating on to a empty dual carriage way, all because my exhaust crackles and pops from factory?

Interested to hear thoughts.

I don't think you'd get section 59 for that. Is there something you're not telling us or is it not true ;) you should've asked him what law states you can't go over 3k rpm lol.

Literally was this. I explained to him that it cracks and pops standard, I started the car and gave it revs to show him, he said keep it under 3k and it won't crackle and pop.
 
You bought a car to get attention and are shocked it gives attention.

Those fake antilag maps are annoying but I am more surprised that there is an actual traffic bobby still employed. They are a near extinct race :p.

My guess is your not saying something but gave it full send when it didn't really need it and the rice crispies just added to your demise.

I wasn't looking for any attention. I was driving home from the supermarket. It does not have a anti lag or crackle and pop map on. It crackles and pops from the factory.
