a lot of people will end up broke with this mining fantasy. There is no real money to be made here no matter how many copy and paste batch articles you post here.
Let’s try keep it light hearted folks, I think the thread is devolving in to a crypto thread, when it was all about starting a gofundme to cure my mental problems![]()
People said that 10 years ago
If those people had put £100 in back then instead of dismissing it, they would be almost millionaires now![]()
You tell me? I'm the one pointing out that you managed to criticise people for their "arrogance", then go on to claim that people who don't mine are 100% in the wrong not to do soHypocrisy burns doesn't it.
Well I started mining 6 weeks ago. I have twice transferred 0.0025 bitcoin into euros and then into my bank account. So I have £170 in real sterling GBP in my bank plus another £120 worth of bitcoin in my wallet at the current prices which I could transfer right now and be in my bank account tomorrow. Sure if you buy bitcoin with real money, or never cash in some of the bitcoin or ether you have mined then you run the risk of losing money, but if you cash in parts as you go along then of course there is real money to be made.a lot of people will end up broke with this mining fantasy. I'll point out too that I have invested £0 into mining. There were already 4 gaming PCs in my house, one each for me and me 3 kids. We mine when we're not gaming so usually only 1 or 2 PCs mining at any one time and I leave the 2 PCs with the 5700 XT and 6900 XT on overnight. Electricity costs are around 20% of takings. Cards are significantly down clocked when mining. The 6900 XT draws 148 W and the 5700 XT only 98 W.
I hope it goes well for you.
But your claiming £40 a week mining with 4 PCs, so what about the increased electricity bills for running 4 PCs, What if some cards start artifacting/burn out.
If a card burns out as you would have lost out and what about your electric bills for keeping 4 pcs on the go.
Wish you best of luck!
Not sure whether this thread is a mickey take or what but seriously if its not get a life.
Just waiting for the BBC News Article "Mining Crypto ruined my life".
I'm not sure but I hope so. It's the one thing I'm slightly worried about. I'm a gamer just trying to cash in a bit whilst it lasts so I'd hate to think I'm doing my card any harm. I have the core clocks down at 1300 so half the speed compared to gaming. For the memory I have a 50 Mhz overlclock applied, again less than half the overclock I use when gaming. I'm sacrificing a few points in terms of the hash rate I could get if I pushed the memory clocks higher but trying to err on the side of caution. The card run's at 57 degrees when mining so I'm hoping this, along with the lower clock speeds, is the equivalent to a comfortable walk for the card rather then sprinting all the time.I'd presume that a downclocked card will not hammer the vram quite as hard as at stock?
If anyone has an informed opinion regarding potential damage, not fuelled by their distain for mining, then that would be welcome?
Maybe you should go tell the polar bears about it.If anyone has an informed opinion regarding potential damage, not fuelled by their distain for mining, then that would be welcome?
