i am interesting to buy this keyboard K100 USB MECHANICAL GAMING KEYBOARD BACKLIT RGB LED CHERRY mx

i want to buy these keyboard and for gaming and for typing..

my question is because i am typing a lot of things for my job.,,. the chery mx switches which has these keyboard is for typing or is for gaming??

these chery mx is like the brown swiches??

also this keyboard has 2 versions of swtiches

CHERRY mx and optical.
which from these 2 switches is more for typing and gaming??

also because i am from greece if i buy this keyboard from the https://www.overclockers.co.uk/ shop

this keyboard costs 220 euros

will i pay extra charges and taxes?? in greece??

I've used Cherrry Reds, Browns and Red Silent. For just typing I prefer Brown but Red Silents are a reasonable compromise. From what I can tell the Silvers are basically Reds with less travel. You won't get that 'bump' you get with browns when typing - they'll be linier until they bottom out. That fact along with the low travel suggests to me it's more gamer than typing oriented. Unfortunately I know nothing of Corsair's own switches.

Since I often game late at night and sometimes have to work over night if called out, I use Cherry Red Silents these days to keep the noise down - been using a Fnatic Rush Pro for the past few years and have recently ordered a Corsair K70 with the Red Silents. If you're looking at the K100 I'd also take a look at the K70 as I'm not sure what you're getting for your extra €70 for the K100. I struggled to get my head around the K70 price given what the Rush Pro cost back when they still made it!

As for shipping from the UK to Europe - you'd have to ask customer services! I know I had something blocked by customs I ordered from Europe (not IT related, different retailer) and either had to pay a large fee and VAT twice or cancel it, so there may be problems. That was back in January tho so maybe they've sorted things out a bit. I believe OCUK are owned by a German company so maybe it won't be a problem.

OPX are like Silvers, but even further in that direction basically. Very "gamery" in function (and by that, I mean competitive FPS/MOBA; the stuff where people care about tiny speed differences).

So not great for typing; linear, low actuation force, short actuation difference = high chance of typing errors.

At a guess I'd say it's because only "serious gamers" would spend £230 on a gaudy Corsair keyboard? And "serious gamers" don't buy brown switches. But you'd have to ask Corsair.

but the k95 platinum is very good keyboard and i like so much the brown switches are very good for typing..

what is the difference between k95 platinum and k95 platinum xt?

these 2 versions of k95 have brown switches..

but why the k100 doesnt have multiple linear switch options like the k95 platinum??

i cant understand this..
