That's a shame.

Thats the problem, it feels like its never gonna end. Miners don't help the situation and nor does lockdown. After hearing what the Chancellor has planned for the future, its looking pretty grim if im honest and people splurging on stuff now may very well regret it.It's ridiculous that many people are buying 3070's for £800 and feeding the scalping. The best thing is to wait a bit and things will settle down. Too many impatient people with no common sense sadly.

I’m in this boat. Missing out on a 3080 loads of times just makes you settle as you have no idea when another 3080 drop is coming. Turns out it was about 10 minutes after I got a 3070 last nightPeople are buying any GPU (e.g. 3060ti) instead of the one they want (e.g. 3080) and then eventually buying the one they want and have to resell the other one further filing the lack of supply.
"supposedly" Cheap hobbyLOL, and this is a cheap hobby!!
Stop copying me!Same as me, I tried a 3080 but didn't even get to adding it to my basket, I did manage to grab a 3060Ti though, and while that's probably good enough for anything I want to do, I still want a 3080, FOMO or whatever, I dunno..
Are you going to sell the 1080? I have a Vega 56 now that I think I’ll sell on FB Marketplace.Stop copying me!
When availability is not this stupid, I might upgrade to the 3080 I wanted originally but more than happy I managed to get a 3060ti which is replacing my 1080. I don’t expect or think that’ll be for at least a year if at all though.

@Gavster I've not had much luck with the discord alerts if I'm honest. I managed to get my 3070 order in last night using the distill.io browser plugin. You basically tell it to monitor pages or parts of pages for any changes and what interval to check them at. If the plugin notices a change it makes a chime sound. Opened the site and saw the buy button!
The system is put in place to stop people buying multiple cards and give more chance to those who have no card, if you didn't want the 3070 then you shouldn't have bought it, playing the system to get another is really no better than the scalpers while using scalpers to justify it.I got a 3070 FE just before Christmas but I was always after the 3080 FE. I bought the 3070 FE because it was the only one I could get, after trying to get a 3080 FE a couple of times before and failing. With the new one per customer policy on the other site, now I can't buy a 3080 FE.
At first I was happy that I got the 3070, and it was a vast improvement on my previous GPU, but its still a no brainer to get the 3080 FE. So having failed to get a 3080 FE on the last couple of drops due to the new policy, Im forced now to try and set up a 2nd account to a different address in order to get one. Its crap, absolutely, but the fact is that this is what scalpers are doing to get multiple FE cards over and over, so now I have to as well.
Just got my dispatch notice on the 3060ti. Happy days
The short supply is cause all sorts of behaviour which is just making the situation worse not better.
You see people who already have AIB cards buying FEs so they can flip their AIB card or vice versa.

Of course, lots of people buying for their ‘friends’ otherwise known as eBay.
All of these examples are in the last few pages of this thread alone.

You even get people claiming they're almost doing people a favour by buying multiple cards, deciding which one they want and selling the others online for MSRP but second-hand. I think some people are addicted to the "thrill of the chase". They have already purchased multiple cards but just can't help themselves. It amazes me how many "friends" people normally claim to have in situations like this... I wonder how is that all these "friends" need other people to buy things for them. I wonder if any of these people would actually buy anything in real life for their friends, without asking for the money first.
Seems like people with very large families are very interested in PC Gaming as well... One for me, one for each one of my four kids, my brother wants another, and my brother in law, plus my best mate... Damn it, I have only managed to buy 5 and I want three more, the system is crap, bloody miners!
