I know its pretty noob-ish to admit but flashing bios is pretty much the only PC based thing I'm still not comfortable doing. I've read Qflash is pretty easy though and I want the re-size BAR support for my 3090 so I'm going to have to give it a go. The two options that look the easiest seem to be to pop a memstick in the Qflash port and use the button on the mobo or through the bios app in Windows however I understand the Windows one may be risky?

When I look at the PDF that's included in the download from the Gigabyte site it has you renaming files and such but Ive seen step by steps that don't bother doing that?

Again, I know its noob-ish but I'm just after a little help or info on what's going to be the best way for me to do it here.

Well i have this board you have, when i updated my bios last year updated to F5c, i did the update through the bios itself, all works so not updated to any other bios since then, i think i may wait till a none beta version gets released before i do anymore updates, i am in no rush since i'm running a 1060 card.
I would advise you to use the inbuilt qflash in the bios.

I was going to try the qflash/bios way but the little button seems easy enough just not heard of people actually using that method

If you can get into the BIOS, use the BIOS flash tool. It is safer that way than the bind flashing with the button as you get no progress bar.

The button is best used if you brick your board or don't have a cpu that allows you into the BIOS.

They normally pull a bios just before a new one appears, I would think they will release another within the next couple of days, I personally had no problems running f20b on this board but remember resizable bar still wont work until nvidia release drivers to support your card, the only card currently supported is the rtx3060

Nor should you be. It is still one activity that can completely brick your PC. It is better to only update the BIOS when there is a known problem.

Gigabyte has a utility that wanders off and looks at the website and will only download the correct BIOS. I think it is part of the APP centre. I think it is @BIOS, but you need to take a look in the APP centre.

Yeah it looks easy enough but my understanding is NOT to update through anything web based due to issues that COULD arise?

Id not usually bother to be honest but the resize bar is a big one for me and I would rather have it than not.

10900k. 4.9ghz @1.19 v. Been solid as a rock but Ill be swapping it out for a 11900k given the PCI-e 4 support it will give me.

Out of curiosity what's been the LAN issue? I'm sure I'm not getting the speeds my broadband supports for downloads. It seems to be hit and miss.

Some of the intel lan arnt getting the right speed something like half others arnt working at all as its wirless aswell at least youve got that to fall back on there are 3 versions of the intel lan the 3rd one has no issues but depends what lan is fitted to board if you search on web youll find more detail about it
Thanks for replying to me as it was off topic and good luck with the flash ive used the @BIOS on a x570 board when i couldnt find a usb drive and all went well:)

What you said would back up what Ive found as well it seems. Its not always the case but sometimes the speeds are nowhere near what I should be getting.

Any idea which one I should be looking out for and is this a fix that's expected or is it just "make do with it"?
Looks like its a make do with have a look on web as im not sure off hand in my opinion all boards with the fault should be recalled and replaced free of charge but they wont be

Just had a quick google and it seems the issue is with it not working at all. Mine works, there's no doubt about that so mine may be an unrelated issue.
