Considering a change to AMD and either a 5800x or 5900x (if available) and wondering whats the main difference between the two chipsets, wont be doing any extreme overclocking if any so will the B550 be more than good enough?
Well there must be something wrong with your fan mate as i have built quite a few with x570 and havnt heard one what board have you gotB550, chipset fan on X570 is a pain, it's the loudest fan in my case.![]()
Theres not a problem usually with the fan on x570 boards there was a issue on the msi boards where the 4th pin had been bent when fitting so it spun up at full speed but once the pi was sorted you cant hear themThanks for the advice

Yeh thought you might have had the msi was going to suggest you looked at the 4th pin forgot about asus poor fan positioningNothing wrong with it, just poorly positioned by Asus so the GPU sits right in front of the intake.
It's normal for the X570-F, you can fix the issue by moving the card but then you only get 8x which sucks.
Take a look at msi b550 unify mate apparently its a excellent boardThink the last board I had with a chipset fan was an old dfi lanparty boardi think ill look at the B550's, currently looking at Rog Strix B550-F Gaming
