AMD 6000 Series Prices!?

The worrying thing is they are not particularly great at mining or gaming ( limited RT / no DLSS ) yet they cost so much.
In raytracing, not normal gaming and even then the 6800XT's raytracing performance is close to a 2080 TI which isn't bad at all given the compromises they've made. They do need to hurry up with their DLSS competitor though.

Oh i see, might pay for that new card of yours.

New card I managed to bag at retail so only paying the retail scalp lol... I know madness. The 7 has been mining on and off for I dunno perhaps a month or so and brings in around £50 a week. It would take 4 months (plus a few because its never what you think) to pay off what I paid for the 7 which was £700 on feb 7th 2019. Sadly now though they are going for crazy crazy money, ive seen 7's selling over and above £1500

£900 on the Sapphire 6800xt Nitro+ doesnt seem totally mental although was still more than I wanted to spend. I was just going to replace the wifes card with something mid ish range.

Garbage like this is what makes nVidia fan boys arguments hard to take seriously. Just because you've been brainwashed to believe you need DLSS, doesn't mean everyone else does. nVidia is surely now a bigger cult than the likes of Scientology?!

Really? My 6800XT is within 10-15fps of my mates 3090 in the game we play. And he's playing at 1080p while I play at 1440p

LMAO, playing at 1080p with a 3090? I'll have some of what he's smoking please.

£50 a week with one card, you can see why people do it.

If you can get £1500 for it would it not make more sense to sell it than mine at £50 a week?

Unless of course you intend to mine long term.

I didnt buy it to mine on... I bought because my wifes rx470 was failing and I needed a card to replace it. I was looking for like a 5600xt but this came up so ill upgrade mine :) I wasn't a mining purchase and tbh the 7 is better at mining than a 6800xt.

Fair do’s. Just thought at that price it would eliminate the risk of a crypto crash and get you your money now instead.

At least you’ve got a nice upgrade out of it. :D

Who is paying these ridiculous prices?

not accusing of any individuals of wrong doing ( or the seller in this case) however, money laundering was a big problem before and it still is, it’s just that GPUs are (at the moment) a good target to use for such purposes. If you can shift a single unit for £2k, weight aside, it’s better than shifting a box of cash if you can move five at a time.

In terms of the price of this item, there is a 3090 kingpin up for a similar amount and i know which card i would have for £3k.

It will sit there smashing 100mh/s for 200w when she isn't using it ;) Meanwhile Ill smash through the rest of cyberpunk on the 6800xt

That's nice.

Vega VII was very underrated. Last of the great Raja Vega cards.

It would be interesting see what direction AMD could have taken had raja stayed at AMD.

We could have been banging out 200mh/s with Vega +++++ and had some serious stock rather than waisting the precious resources on manufacturing crap consoles.

And the unicorn has landed :D
