*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Sounds to me like they are making a loss on cards so want people to cancel knowing they can sell for a higher price when stock does eventually arrive. Not that my Gigabyte Eagle 3080 ever looks like it will arrive :/

Anyone had any luck asking to move to the back of a lower queue? Thinking moving to a more expensive Gigabyte would make sense as actually getting some stock although no idea how much they would charge.

Dunno if I'm reading it properly but is he saying that if you don't have your card they advise that you now cancel your order?

Looks that way. Not only is it a problem for ocuk to find stock it seems. it must be impossible for them to find stock to not make a big loss on the pre order sale with current market prices.

Gibbo is just being honest with you. This is the situation as it stands right now and it's dire. We can't guarantee any supply any time soon.

I get the feeling that Gibbo is giving up hope to be honest with you. I can only imagine the frustration. I get fed up of not being able to get a few motherboard lines for a month or two, let alone six months of an entire product range.

I'd say just keep the back order open while setting up alerts and trying to snag a card while you wait assuming you don't need the cash from your back order to fund one.

Is there any point contacting customer support asking to move to the back of another card line with less wait or is that simply not possible? Don't want to waste everyone's time phoning if not possible but would start to reduce waits for those willing to pay a bit more to move to the higher supply and higher price queues. Obviously move to the back so others aren't hard done by.

These are definitely bad times. :(

that's a REALLY complicated question without a simple answer but as it stands right now we have absolutely no 3080s at all incoming, from any brand.

Would you happen to know if something has changed recently? I'm 8th in line at the moment for a 3090 Xtreme and a few have actually recently been delivered so I wouldn't have thought it the best idea for me to cancel?

My thought is that other places will be in a similar situation so it's not as if we can cancel and go buy somewhere else. Given what cards have been coming in the last few months, it seems mostly the higher end cards as the manufacturers can make more profit from them. So given I can't pick up a card elsewhere I see no reason to cancel but to get a card sooner (even if it is 3 months time!) I'm thinking moving to the lower queue cards for some people like myself makes sense if willing to pay the difference in price. I'm just not sure how OCUK would work out the pricing since they don't even have store prices at the moment and whether your systems can cope with it or not. Obviously if everyone tried this it would overwhelm customer support but imagine most people don't read the forums anyway.

Sorry, I really don't know, we had a decent number of Gigabyte cards arrive in the last week or so and I thought things were looking up, but looking at the incoming now, it seems like I was wrong.

Lets be completely honest, if you are close to the end of a queue that has been moving steadily then holding on makes sense, just be aware of how dry it is at the moment.
If you are in a queue that hasn't moved in ages, if you are one of those unfortunate customers who selected a brand boast about selling to mining farms...if you are far back in a queue that only moves by single figures in a week. Then it's beginning to look like a complete hiding to nothing to hold on. It's going to take an unlikely miracle for any queue to move more than a handful of cards before the summer. There's absolutely no way that we'll clear those queues before then.

Perfect dude thanks for the reply and info.

Gov's need to ban coin mining, else will never get any stock.
And no nothing to do with brexit given OOS everywhere, and GPU's not made in EU.
