3090 Worth it Over the 3080??

But surely 2x 3080s would give you +100% daily £ extra on mining.

So I don't understand people saying it's worth paying double for 15%.

I don't understand this completely when people are finding it hard to obtain 1 (yes ONE) 3080...

and it would only obtain you 100% over another 3080. 85% over just one 3090.

It ain't bs, your comment on the other hand is bs. Thont one of the most respected posters here. He's been mining his 3090 since he got it. I am on £400 and he was mining way before me. You need to learn some respect son.

 he calls bs yet Im the one who can see my account balances.. not him! Thanks for the support though. Some of these guys - really

3090 is much better than the 3080. well worth it for the long run. especially with DLSS

when the cards launched i jumped straight to the Division 2 benchmarks, saw that the 3080fe did 108 fps and the 3090fe did 119 fps and summarised that whilst the 3090 is quicker, you probably won’t see that difference on screen.

Well, I'd have been happy with a 2080ti or a 3090 over my 'ol 1080ti, don't get me wrong. I'd have been well happy with a 2080ti. Yep, if it landed on my lap, I'd have tweaked it to get the maximum out of it. I'd have very much enjoyed putting the 2080ti through it's paces.

Now the 3090 does seem geared more for enthusiasts, especially with a ring on finger. 24GB of RAM is uncomfortable when considering gaming usage, as much as 3090's hands are bigger than my 11 inch spades.

The fiancee must be the full fat version. Whilst probably at max- 10% more powerful than 3090, again only attractive for the extreme enthusiasts; for benching maybe - a pastime as equal in popularity to, paraphilic infantilism, but if it wasn't relatively niche then it wouldn't be 'enthusiast'.

3080 is hot, just cant get one like all the best things. Not a gold digger, doesn't come with extras appealing to the few.

The one every man wants... but cant get.

No offense meant, I'm just more Cobra Kai in understanding what is acceptable today. :)

Well if you have dabbled in MSFS you'll soon be made aware that it has the potential to gobble up VRAM, and lets not beat about the bush, why in gods name would you buy a 3090 and not dial up the settings in 4k, the 3090 handles MSFS's unoptimized delivery with silky smooth delivery. I dont think about VRAM...ever. I didn't want a second best (3080), i want the best there is today, i deserve it, want it and have it.

Oh, one game for VRAM which is pointless really, rendering such detail miles away. WHere did I say don't dial up the settings? You set every setting in MSFS at max? So you bought a 3090 for £700 extra to mitigate an un-optimized game?

3080 owners be like - wait for game to be patched.

Gut first answer is no.

But consider the current resell value and vram benefits, and even more so been able to enjoy the performance now rather than months down the line. If you can afford it then fair enough, and have option to sell and get a 3080FE later.

One thing I am realising though is I may have a silicon lottery winner on my 3080Fe when comparing my voltages to what others have posted for both 3080s and 3090s. I say may though as I expect I will find later I probably will need to bump my voltages a touch still, but the gap I have over what others have reported is impressive.

And 3090 owners!

Tbh the biggest issue with MSFS2020 is the cpu loading but graphically both a 3080 and a 3090 will struggle and neither have the horsepower at 4K with all the settings maxed especially in big cities.
