Keyboard Thoughts?

Hi All

Software Engineer and gamer here.

Looking at the GMMK Full, or the Ducky Shine 7 when it comes back into stock. What do you think? Any thoughts? Alternative recommendations?

Have you used a mechanical keyboard before? Honestly its a minefield. You have so many choices with keycaps, switches, styles, tenkeyless and so forth.

As a fellow software engineer and gamer I would recommend something with brown switches. They are good for both typing and gaming.

(I use a topre switch which I would never give up for the typing experience but they are hard to find and not as quite as good as brown to game on)

Also software dev, recently gone Tenkeyless with a Keychron K8, I dont miss the number pad too much but I would miss the arrow keys, hence Tenkeyless.

Went with brown gateron switches and they seem great for gaming and work. Not as quiet as I thought they would be, there is noise but fine for me at home.

I did struggle to find stock for most higher end mech keyboards.

Agree with tenkeyless. I don't miss the number pad and the extra space on the desk is welcome.
