Images of items I have purchased (except trainers [no feet pics])

Got the Q27H wall mounted. Had to make a 3cm spacer as despite the monitor being VESA compatible, all connections foul unless there is a gap (of 3cm). A bit annoying but not the end of the world!

The absolute nuts about this monitor is the USB-C with PD. I plug 1 USB-C into my laptop and it gives me 2560x1440, mouse, keyboard, webcam, speakers and power. Living in the future :p

What're your opinions on that keyboard?

I'm only a few days in but using it 9hrs each day, I really enjoy it. Cherry Browns are great for typing. I miss the number pad but the space saving is well worth it. It's built incredibly well - weighs a tonne!

I really fancy one of those smaller keyboards for my gaming PC. I use the number pad a lot and I think it's frustrate me not having one. I use a full size Apple Keyboard on my work Mac but I've just switched it over to a smaller size to see if I can get used to it.

Why are people obsessed with smaller keyboards? I just dont get it. Having to press multiple keys to get some symbols would just annoy the hell out of me and slow up my touch typing speed.

I am a recent convert and my touch typing speed has remained the same as far as I'm aware. In fact, this keyboard feels more responsive than my old one.

As someone else said, desk space is the main one. I have a very small desk that was previously about 50% keyboard. Now it's more like 20% and it's fantastic.

You can get a separate num pad for a fiver, worst case.

You don't need to press multiple keys to get a symbol - poster a few pages ago accidently bought a US layout which is a nightmare whether it is a 60, 75, TKL or normal size keyboard :p

Mine is just missing the num pad which gives me mouse space on a really constrained (see: wifes dressing table :D) when WFHing.

Wouldn't call it an obsession.

As someone else aluded to I also have a tiny desk at home, so having a smaller keyboard might be better. When I'm at home I don't REALLY use the numpad, it's more when I'm working Tbh.

Having said that I've not got a small keyboard but I have been tempted over the years

This is why I only lasted about 2 weeks with mine. It was was lovely to type on and I liked the size. But I use symbols such a | and ` a lot and having to use multiple key presses for them was a massive pain.

65% is the sweet spot. If you don't use F-keys or the numpad literally all day, then it offers a massive space save over a full or even a TKL keyboard. The big benefit is a much more ergonomic/neutral arm position - my mouse isn't pushed to the right or my resting typing position isn't shifted to the left.

TKL is ideal for me. I rarely every need the numpad but do need navigation and function keys. Removing the numpad means the keyboard is more centred on my desk, there is more desk space and my mouse is also more centred.

That's my main thought, I nearly got one so the keyboard could shift to the right slightly...even contemplated getting a keyboard where the numpad was on the left!

Will look at some 65% ones though.

There's a nice space saving going 65% vs TKL. To be fair the image below is actually 75%, still gives a nice saving, same width as a 65% but just includes the F-keys row.

When I set myself upstairs I dug through the attic of old peripherals (hence why I'm using a SideWinder X8 mouse [although I've just ordered a Razer]) and found my old SideWinder X6 keyboard:

TKL or Num on left/right. Genius design :D

I've got one! There's a few quirks with the key layout and I never got along with their profile.

But I could dig it out and test again... volume wheel is a huge plus for me!

True but going TKL keeps the standard layout. The small additional space benefit of going smaller is negated for me by the non-standard layout.

I remember when I joined the forums and always took part in spec me threads. This was always a contender for those looking peripherals included in the build.
