Has anyone tried the latest BIOS on the B450M Mortar from MSI?

Or any of the B450 boards for that matter?

It seems to enable SAM for Ryzen 3000 series CPUs? Link - MSI Global

It says on the site its a beta BIOS, curious if anyone has tried it...?

I'm using a Beta version for the b450 tomahawk and it's been fine running a 5800X.

One updated there should be an option in the bios settings/advanced/PCIe sub systems above 4g memory called resizable BAR which needs to be enabled to run SAM.

I don’t think SAM is available for zen2 CPUs yet.

the option would only been seen in BIOS if you have a zen3 CPU.

On my X570 unify, I had the BIOS with SAM for ages and I had the 3900X in it, no option for SAM in PCIE options. But now I have 5800x and it is there.

Yes I have tried it, using BIOS version 7B89v2C on the B450M Mortar Max I got it running yesterday using a Ryzen 5 3600 and an RX 6700XT using smart access memory, I wasn't sure if it would work tbh but it does, shows up in task manager with the large memory range and I can show an approximately 5% performance improvement in Shadow of the Tomb Raider for example. I will be putting a 5800X into the board in a few days time which is why I updated the BIOS really, but I was curious to see if it would run SAM with the 3600 and that's a yes.
