Hello there!

I am planning to do my first PC build with RTX 3080 and i9-10900k. The other components I would like are 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, 4TB hard drive.
Now... I have 2 problems, maybe 3 - first one is I don't know which of all the variants to choose. I see there are 100 different types of 3080s, 500 different types of RAMs, SSDs etc. I would like the best of the best but I am not sure which ones are they. Second problem is I don't know the rest of the components - which ones to choose. Is liquid cooling better (I think it is) but which one to choose for my build, which motherboard is the best, power supply. Do I need a sound card the best audio or that's only something in my head. What PC case to choose. I don't know nothing.

Could you suggest to me people what should I buy. A list of all the components I will need would be great great help. What instruments I need as well. Any tips for first time build etc.

Budget is around 4000 pounds

Thank you very much again and see you later!

▷ Asus GeForce RTX 3080 ROG Strix Gaming OC 10G… | OcUK (overclockers.co.uk)

RTX 3080 will be about £1000.00. No stock.
No, you don't need a soundcard, I have one, but they last so long, it is from 2012...
AI0 cooler from NZXT CPU cooler. Compromise between air and water cooling for CPU and they look good too.
I would have suggested the AMD 5900X CPU, however, they are never in stock.
Below is a guide, on components, for your budget I threw in a monitor, wireless keyboard and mouse...

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £2,404.24 (includes shipping: £28.02)

The gpu will be the hardest thing to get hold of. Also prices are inflated if you do get one. An RTX 3080 Strix should be closer to £800 not £1000.

What is the pc going to be used for ?

In a normal world it would be....not this.

for £4000 you can build an ultra high end pc. MAD ryzen 5950x, Nvidia 3090, 128Gb ram etc. I wish I had that much money :)

I'd look for a pre build set up if you want to get it anytime soon without playing hunt the GPU.
OcUK might be reserving certain percentage of incoming stock for any PC they built.
And at that budget level buying assembly work isn't anything.
