This is what a scalper looks like..

How can anyone here say scalpers are entrepreneurs, business people, capitalists etc.......they're not! They are lazy slack ****** , spivs (to use an older term) or whatever, who produce nothing, employ no-one as a business might, they don't pay taxes, NI, or any other costs. They are vultures who prey on the gullible who have too much money (or not have much money but are prepared stitch themselves up to get the latest and greatest with debt and/or credit). These individuals, are society's pariahs who are only interested in obtaining wealth (money) whilst being motivated by nothing more than greed and laughing at their victim's dilemma, and then they have the gall to say they're only exploiting the market, showing monetary initiative? Absolute ********, they're what I said they were earlier on.
Right, flame away, I'm not here to discuss my comments, thats how I feel about these "people".

You realise you're all sat on the internet mocking how a 17-year-old girl looks right?

Just want to put that in perspective by saying it out loud.

You do realise retailers are doing exactly the same thing right? In fact all the way back down the line they have all bumped up their prices to take advantage of the shortage. I've seen retailers charging double MSRP. Are they not businesses? Just because these people don't employ anyone doesn't mean they aren't in business. If they aren't paying tax they are idiots because they've just put themselves right in the cross hairs of HMRC doing this story. I don't like what they do but this is capitalism like it or not.

I blame the people willing to pay over the odds to be honest. They create a market for this behaviour.

That said, it's a very far stretch for them to call themselves entrepreneurs.

If memory serves me well, they were all gloating about offloading to chumps that weren't aware new super duper cards were imminent.

That went well.

Exactly, they all offloaded their card to people who didn't know better for the maximum amount they could. Now they expect sympathy because they haven't had a working pc for months or have to pay over the odds? As if.

It really is pathetic, but only to be expected on here sadly.

Scalpers have very little in common with bona fide businesses. Buying from a scalper on eBay is more like buying from someone down the pub. If these teenage girls aren't laughing hard enough at fleecing the gullible, they'll certainly be turning it up another notch when they see themselves praised as entrepreneurs.

Reading through this thread, you can see why it's happening - it really is the easiest of money to make right now.

They are making money - that's positive.

Don't see how it's any different between a corner shop owner going down the cash and carry and buying tins of beans for 10p then selling for 30p.

The difference is that the corner shop owner is adding value by providing a service of convenience. They are bringing it closer to you and enabling you to buy just the right number of tins rather than in bulk.

How is this 17 yo girl scalping, has she bought or developed software?

Many scalpers pay for or develop bots that autobuy a product from certain sites if the price target is met. The bots are doing the same thing as the Discord alert bots but buy the cards at the same time.

So much hate for scalpers. Big corporations pray on the weak as well. Look at mobile phones for example. Big adverts offering the latest iPhone with 20gb data and unlimited texts etc for just £50 per month. The gullible and vulnerable are getting sucked into these deals.

I've overheard students without much money talking about how they got a "FREE" iPhone because it was GIVEN to them with their monthly minutes. Some people really believe their phone didn't cost them anything.

I'm surprised the government doesn't step in to be honest because it's very misleading to the uninformed.

Vodafone, EE, O2, Three etc are far bigger parasites than scalpers.

Big corporations make a fortune out of the gullible and stupid. This is how the world works.

I don't like scalpers either but I hate the big corporations a lot more. Scalpers are just ordinary people trying to make a living. Most of my hate is aimed at the corporations.
