Lease deals are poor at the moment

My current lease (Seat Leon FR) is coming to an end and I'm looking for what will be my next lease, but I cant help noticing the deals are particularly poor this time around. I cant find any offers that stand out, except for one deal on a Skoda Kamiq. Anybody else thought the same? It may be time I go back to buying a used car

I've found this too, I think it's because the GFVs that manufacturers are using at the moment are quite low so the lease companies are covering any potential losses.

I was looking at a Seat Tarraco, on a PCP after discount it was about £30k but after 3 years the GFV is only just over £10k. So monthly payments were something like £500.

I think there's something going on that's caused a bit of a slow down in manufacturing where said lease deals would normally sit in terms of excess stock offers

I've decided to buy something until they come back and I can live my best life leasing bargain buckets

Brexit complications and then Covid as well? and iirc the EV grant from the gov has just been given a shave too

there seems to be some decent brand new offers atm opposed to leasing completely depends what you're after.
I've noticed on the few drives I've been out on there seems to have been a notable increase in hothatches and petrol guzzlers kicking about.

May be the lockdown effect and everyones mileage dropping hugely, with some hopefully being indefinate.
Cant blame people for putting mpg aside when they can grab somethign nicer/sportier

All lease cars dropped for the last 2 weeks in March, I presume before the new reg came out.

I agree lease deals aren't as good as they have been, but the prices do seem to be coming down.

I've signed the inlaws up for the Kamiq deal and we take delivery of a Kodiaq ST Line for £303 fully maintained next month.

Not sure of your model or mileage but this one for 3 years lease @ 10k per annum is only £323.90 per month to lease. Why would you do a PCP on it at £500 per month?

It was just an example. The website tracks all lease prices for the last year showing that pretty much every car you pick, they are as cheap now as they have been for the last year except for the deals towards the end of march for clearly stock before new reg. Point is a year ago it was £60 per month dearer than it is now.

That merc I linked to was £100 per month cheaper for 2 weeks in March.

Its a great website as it just pulls together everybody other lease companies deals.

I find its the best way to find the cheapest cars.

I noticed this when I was looking late last year

Luckily there were good deals for company drivers for BEV's so I switched from a PCH to a BCH and got a Polestar 2.

Gone are the days you could get a new Golf R for £200 a month!

The golf R is weird and bucks the trend I said earlier. Every month its more and more money. Its gone up £100 per month since the beginning of 2021 alone!

I also notice the polestar 2 has gone up £188 per month since November! They were a steal at just over £400 per month for 10k per annum.

Guess thats due to demand.

I wonder what delivery timelines are like on those not in stock. Can't be quick?

New model just released so likely no offers or discounts being pushed by VW, they’ll likely sell plenty regardless.

Maybe so but still amazing to see a £100 per month increase in 3 months. If you got in and ordered one earlier thats £3800 saved over the 3 years lease.

Bit of a catch all title, there is always some good deals out there just not what you are after maybe?

Renault Zoe GT Line R135 50kWh - £5.6k for 24 months, lowest discounted cash price is about £24k for the same spec. That is a pretty good deal.

VAG in particular are pushing BEVs. They don’t want to sell ICE vehicles without BEVs to balance the CO2 target. They need to get their average CO2 under a certain figure or they pay a lot of money in charges to the EU in fines.
