Post Your Daily Encounter Pics Here

Saw this Aston Martin DBX last Friday. I wasn't sure if they had been released yet.

Did not look like a £160K SUV.

Looks way uglier than the earlier images for some reason. It's also funny how from the front it just looks like a fat Fiesta.

I guess covid caused a lot of rich people to lose their taste :D

Man, that's ugly. I guess they've got to do it to bring the money in though.

Indeed. Didnt the Cayenne save Porsche and mean they can keep making 911s or something stupid? I am sure I heard or read somewhere than the Porsche SUVs account for 90% of the profits Porsche makes.

One thing I did find when googling it to try and verity it is that Porsche accounted for 1.7% of the VW Group's total passenger-vehicle sales -- but 31.7% of its passenger-vehicle profits. Thats a pretty amazing stat in its own right since that is about a 3.6 billion euros profit per year from just 154,652 car sales  There is such a good margin on them, thats £23,278 profit on every Porsche sold and if its true the profit is mainly in the SUVs and not the 911s then its going to be even more per every Cayenne as Porsche sells more SUVS than cars by more than 2:1

Looks a bit like some (young) child has had a go at making a car out if lego:cry:. On my smart car post, I noticed the little tikes bit, it's an impressive level of attention to detail. I'm sure I read that nearly all the body panels can be swapped easily on them.

Yep, all the panels are removable plastic except the "safety cell" arches. My earlier image expired weirdly but this is mine after I peeled all the ad/branding stickers off when I bought it:

All the red is plastic!

that thing looks mental :D (in a good way)
fair play to you for getting one and modifying it

It's a bit of a sentimental story really, freelanced for a guy with quite eclectic ideas about advertising. We imported guitars so he covered it in guitars and the gold/yellow colour here is actually the tweed used on Fender amplifiers/cases.

Eventually he insured me on the car and then I bought it off him when we folded the business up - and he's a good mate now. So I'm quite fond of the funny little car, I just peeled off the branding and left the bits I like :)

It's loads of fun to drive in London and gets smiles (especially from kids!)
