Hey guys!

In the idea of a new build, what would you recommend as in with a better reliability, better performance and better warranty between the following :

GIGABYTE Z590 AORUS MASTER + GIGABYTE RTX 3080 AORUS XTREME (plus the AORUS COOLER)
OR
MSI Z590 ACE + MSI RTX 3080 SUPRIM X (plus the MSI COOLER)

Thank you!

Gigabyte have better warranty support but between everything else I don't think there is much in it.

Go all aorus, GPU has 4 year UK warranty as well . specially at the prices today!!

board is fixed in UK, MSI is EU

aorus cooler did handle 10900k at 5.3ghz just fine

aorus also do 4400hz ram for £130... ouch!

and remember, aorus extreme is 4 slot cooler!!!

I’d just be happy with whatever 3080 you can actually buy.

Agreed.

Otherwise, in terms of my brand experiences. MSI make slightly better motherboards than Gigabyte as I've had huge mileage out of my Tomahawk boards. Gigabyte tend to offer better price to performance though, so that might also be a factor for you.
In either case there isn't much in it, and would recommend you go by the feature list of any given Motherboard and not the brand.

My old MSI board is still going strong after 10 years. The replacement (X570 Tomahawk) is great however UK support advised they were not aware of a documented issue with mobo control of my ballistix ram and recommended giving it a try.. it didn't work so using Asus software! Seen some negative comments about both brands so I'd say research the specific models and consider looks rather than sticking with a particular brand.

If you can buy a 3080 either

had problems with both brands in the past but everyone has stories about x or y brand
