*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

I for one hope that OcUK don't cancel orders without the users consent, and at least offer some alternative.
I am in the unenviable position of being near the back of.the longest queue. But I have a useable pc built albeit somewhat overpowered for the current graphics card.
I can see that OcUK have been royally screwed by Nvidia and I for one do not mind paying the difference to bring it to the new OcUK price when that's determined. I am pretty sure it will be fair.
What I will NOT do under any circumstances and however long I have to wait is to bow down to scalpers. Everyone who does just makes the situation worse for all of us, no matter how desperate you are to get hold of a GPU.
Also, I cannot spend the time trawling site after site for new drops.
I have enough tech know how to run a bot but I refuse to add to the stupidity of all that and look forward to the day that the retail systems can identify them.
If I drop off the queue now, where would I be? It's pointless me doing that when every single site says out of stock (except the scalpers sites of course).
So, in summary OcUK, there are some people on your backorder queues who are completely reliant on you and don't mind the wait and paying the difference in exchange for the security of knowing that they have a firm order.

Well then, lets review...

7 month pre-order not fulfilled.
Blocked from buying a 3070 because I live in Northern Ireland.
Blocked for forum deals because I had under 1000 posts.

Thanks OCUK, it's been wonderful :P

I'm away to blow the whole lot on a new monitor that isn't made by MSI from somewhere that isn't here. SMH

I for one hope that OcUK don't cancel orders without the users consent, and at least offer some alternative.
Surely that requires us to have alternatives which we can offer?
We've been having discussions internally about what we can do if something like this happens but without any alternative stock to offer there's no viable options. As I've said before, the one thing we refuse to do is start moving people from one long queue to another when there's absolutely no incoming stock.

If today's news proves anything, it's that manufacturers don't care enough about back order queues to go out of their way to clear them. They've had enough GPU to clear them but decided to make alternative models instead.

Yes MSI have confirmed the part is no longer in production and that the replacement part won’t have good availability so the pre orders stand zero chance of being fulfilled I am afraid.

I've waited since day #1, gotten to 60 in the queue and MSI have cancelled the line?! This is beyond a joke - what a dick move from MSI.

Are there any options other than cancelling here? I know you've upgraded a few people to Suprim X, can I pay for that option at this point?

That's absolutely NOT what's happening, we haven't turned down a single card...even today we've raised a quarter million pound graphics order which includes 3080s at around £850 and 3090s at over £1500. Every brand is raising prices weekly, yet we are still buying.
As I've said before, there will likely be a point where we have to say, no more, but we aren't quite there yet.

please note those costs are excluding tax & shipping
@ScottiB If OC were to get to the point of saying no more, would you give us as the customer the opportunity to cough up an extra sum of money to be able to fulfil the order. As I’m sure a lot of us here wouldn’t mind paying a little extra after all this time if the only other option is that our order will get cancelled

:(
I fear that you may be right, although there's the slightly less public option of just not building certain cards and not officially announcing it...
Which is an even worse move :(.

I just feel that MSI will now (rightfully) receive massive grief online and other manufacturers may use it as cover to announce their cancelled cards.

Will people in the Gaming X queue have the option of moving to the Gaming Z queue when its released?

They are still making the gaming X, just not this exact model. basically it's just a pretext to dump on all the people who pre-ordered when the cards were reasonably priced. Expect to see £1100 gaming X refresh cards hitting stock drops in a few weeks.

I just asked to move from Eagle OC to Vision OC and pay the difference (yes with *current* RRP since they went up) and I have my card now. The vendors are just making their higher models because it's more profitable for them (Eagle OC is second lowest tier of card for Gigabyte so there has been 0 movement). If you want to blame anyone, blame the vendors who are maxing their bottom line by ignoring lower RRP backorders for all lower tier cards (which makes sense from a pure business perspective, I'd do it too...).

we are genuinely looking at options but we keep coming back to the same issues;
- man power
- lack of stock
- poor automated systems

Thousands of affected customers, no stock of alternative cards, not enough manpower to have a discussion with every customer. :(

Surely that requires us to have alternatives which we can offer?
As I see it, while the manufacturer is making the model of card, there is a good chance that it will eventually become a normal stock item. Or at least enough will be produced to fulfill back orders. Cost will be different from what has been paid so far and I have discussed that. You have the alternative to wait it out before cancelling.

Of course, if the manufacturer decides not to make that model then backorders would never be fulfilled and in that case you don't have any obvious options at this time (although things might be different then).
I fully expect the time scales to be long here, and seriously think Christmas is an optimistic target.

Hi there

I am afraid today I deliver bad news to all those who have pre-ordered and are waiting for an MSI 3080 Gaming X Trio:
https://www.archyde.com/msi-stops-p...hics-card-buyers-did-not-wait-for-pre-orders/

I have contacted MSI directly who have confirmed the part is indeed EOL.
The part will be replaced by a Gaming Z Trio, to which I asked MSI can you fulfil our back orders which are presently at 576 units to which the response was "sorry mate, I believe you know the answer" which means not a chance.

This is deeply upsetting to ourselves as we know it will cause great upset amongst our customers, but I must make it crystal clear OcUK has kept MSI informed of our back order quantity since day one, which was originally around 1100 units. Since launch OcUK has had around 350 units of the MSI 3080 Gaming X Trio and OcUK also upgraded around 200 customers to the MSI 3080 Suprim X model free of charge at great loss to ourselves. Unfortunately upgrades are not possible any more as we would be losing around £250-300 per card due to severe price increases from the board partners. But that aside we are simply not seeing any incoming shipments on 3080 from most board partners, so we cannot even offer a paid upgrade service as we have no stock to offer upgrades for at present and the outlook for May looks worse than April, so pretty much no stock.

As such we ask our customers to NOT request a refund using the online form or webnote/phones as it will tie up our customer services people and instead we are investigating a way to refund all the MSI 3080 Gaming X Trio orders as quickly as possible and we hope to do this very soon.

Just made a post, we would love to offer upgrades, the problem is there is no other 3080 in stock to upgrade too and the outlook shows practically zero incoming and even on stock that will come in there is back orders against those.
