I'm selling my 1080ti and 1070 now I have a 3090 in my gaming rig.

I'm going to need to replace them with a couple of others to run my 6 screen trading setup

5 monitors are at 1920/1080 but my main is at 3840/2160

Can I get away with 4gb RX580's or should I go for 8gb cards

No preference over red or green team. I may do some photoshoping but defo no gaming

New or 2nd hand not really bothered

Ta
Matt

You can get GPUs that support so many screens. Take a look at the Matrox GPUs, particularly the M9188 and the D-Series. I expect OCUK will be able to special-order it for you.

Ouch
£1600

Looking at the ram on those things. Only 2gb I'll be able to get away with spending £400 on a couple of 2nd hand RX570's

You pay for reliability. The Matrox cards are professional bits of kit, consumer cards are just that. Probably fine, but if the driver crashes out during a $200m trade, you'd be ****** off to say the least

What's your motherboard/processor? If you have onboard graphics you can run a couple of screens off that, including the main one, then two of the cheapest cards that fit the bill - a GT 1030 has two outputs and costs about £100.

Hell, you could maybe get away with a couple of GT730s if you can find ones with the outputs you need, and they start around the £50 mark...

Came in to suggest what @Jimmy Weirdarms did:
If you mobo/CPU supports it, you should able to drive 2/3/4(rarely) monitor off that and would only need one or two low-end cards.
However, a quick search for OP has a hit for buying a 5950X, so I guess that means no iGPU.
Apparently, Sapphire do a 6 mini-DP card which should a fair bit less than the Matrox.

The 5950 is in my Gaming rig

I've a Ryzen 7 1700x in a CH6 mb for my trading rig.

I've a load of ex mining RX5xx so can use 2 of them but if there is a more power efficient way to run 6 screens then I'll also take that option.. Summer is on its way and the office is getting warmer.

I think In the past I've googled quickly, Found the £1600 multi monitor GPU's and stopped looking. I'll search ebay see if I can get hold of one of those cheaper x6 ones

Thanks

Just undervolt the cards you have already, is not like they use a ton of power in 2D mode anyhow.

They've spent their whole "career" undervolted. Suppose that saves me buying more... I just wasn't sure of the needs for memory. But if the pro cards have 4gb or less then the 4gb 570's will have no issues.

from memory running Multi monitor setups (abvove 6) 1080p is 100MB-200MB per screen 4K is 200-400MB per screen. you'll be fine with 4GB :)
