*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

I was just chatting to support, the caveat with claiming the VAT back is you will be charged for import fees when it's shipped so I don't know if it would amount to the same or what?
We would be paying import with either DPD or DHL but DPD can't get their act together so if they just remove out vat and ship with DHL then we will be charged the vat and import when it arrives into Ireland.

Woke up to great news and super not great news.
My Zotac order got upgraded to a HOLO and is being shipped out after 6 months, absolutely gangbusters news.
On the other hand, something I've never experienced or heard of before. The 3080 Gaming X I ordered for my brother is eol and will apparently never come.
Are we going to be formally told about our Gaming X orders with an email or will orders get automatically cancelled and refunded in time?

I have already posted on the forum, which is formal for those customers who are members and read the forums.
Of course however an official email will be sent soon.

Anyone else considering cancelling their order? I just read that shortages are going to continue at the same pace. I go up 30 ranks every month and I am in position 430 - it would most likely mean another 14 months of waiting. I am not sure I am willing to wait that long. (I still believe I go up 30 ranks a month due to cancellations not just order fills, which means the closer to order fill, the slower it will start going)

@Gibbo Hello, is there a chance for Non-OC trinities to be upgraded at some point in the future? Nonetheless, appreciate you trying to help customers.

Surely that requires us to have alternatives which we can offer?
We've been having discussions internally about what we can do if something like this happens but without any alternative stock to offer there's no viable options.

I think part of the queue are happy to pay an uplift so you don't go bankrupt fulfilling orders (or just cancelling them) - so it would appear you at least have the option of offering the cards at a higher price - should they ever actually arrive  Just keep that as a possibility is all we're asking. :)

Otherwise it appears we can either flip the table and jump from the queue, or double-down and leap for a 3090 at near insane prices. :p

@ScottiB If OC were to get to the point of saying no more, would you give us as the customer the opportunity to cough up an extra sum of money to be able to fulfil the order. As I’m sure a lot of us here wouldn’t mind paying a little extra after all this time if the only other option is that our order will get cancelled

^^^ What he said ^^^

MSI cancelling a line of products now is just the start tbh, it would not surprise me one bit if many other companies start discontinuing their cheapest lines of 3080s in favour of the more profitable lines. I'm 13th in the TUF non oc queue now and I have a sneaking suspicion that we won't be seeing any more of those particular models coming in.

I just asked to move from Eagle OC to Vision OC and pay the difference (yes with *current* RRP since they went up) and I have my card now. The vendors are just making their higher models because it's more profitable for them (Eagle OC is second lowest tier of card for Gigabyte so there has been 0 movement). If you want to blame anyone, blame the vendors who are maxing their bottom line by ignoring lower RRP backorders for all lower tier cards (which makes sense from a pure business perspective, I'd do it too...).

same here I changed over from a palit Rtx 3080 last month to a vision. No back orders for that card for some reason.

I think the lesson from this is when the next GPU’s Launch in 2 years we should probably go for the smaller brands like palit, PNY, zotac, inno3d and avoid the bigger brands like Asus, Gigabyte, and ESPECIALLY MSI. I ordered my palit Rtx 3080 in late November and my starting queue position was only 187 which now I think wasn’t so bad. I’ve changed over to a Gigabyte RTX 3080 Vision OC now and got my card last month :) since I got impatient waiting for my palit one. I think the last time I checked I was in queue position 70 or something like that. But tbh the cheaper cards are still good imo they just don’t look as premium like Asus, Gigabyte, or MSI, but will perform similarly or just as good.

3090 is not so bad, we randomly have them available in stock but they do tend to sell out fast, since launch we have sold and shipped over 2500 units of 3090.
I was just looking at your updates Gibbo, is there any hope of Eagle 3090 OCs in the next month?

I think a lot of lower end SKU's will go. From all reports the quality of the wafers being produced are unusually high. These will always go for the high end, higher profit SKU's.

Is there really no way to move those of us from the 3080 Gaming X queue to the Suprim Queue? As stated youve already upgraded people into that card in the past and thatd save a lot more face, i dont think many of us towards the front of the queue (69th myself) are concerned so much with when it arrives at this point rather than knowing that our patience will be valued.

As it stands, its up to you guys to take initiative and find a solution that goes beyond refunds, because this same situation could easily occur from any of the other vendors, 7 months of patience to be told to jog on feels extremely unfair, a better solution has to be available.

Regardlesss of outcome, ill certainly be putting MSI on my manufacturer blacklist now as the excuse for cancelling this SKU is beyond scummy.
